Related is going all out in the next 2 weeks. The 78 on May 10th and now this on May 15th. These two projects have been in the pipeline for years.. the anticipation is going to kill us.

Officially...

Quote:
400 North Lake Shore Drive (former Spire site)
Representatives from Related Midwest's development team will present plans and answer questions regarding the development proposal for 400 North Lake Shore Drive.

WHAT: 400 North Lake Shore Drive Development Proposal

WHO: Hosted by Alderman Brendan Reilly and the
Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR)

WHEN: Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

WHERE: Sheraton Grand Chicago - Chicago Ballroom 9 and 10

Hmmmm..... Is this the right time to propose a huge project?

We’ve got the Tribune lot, OCS, and Vista still trying to sell their inventory.

Interesting...

Well considering this thing probably wouldn't be finished until what, like 2021 or 2022 at the earliest ..I think we're going to be OK.

I would say that if they start construction as soon as possible (within this year), they really won't have a lot of competition when this structure is finished in say 2022. Sure, they will have OCS, but I think both structures can fit into the market at that time. If Tribune tower starts in 2020, then its completion in 2023/24 also won't have competition. I'd be surprised if they wanted to start construction more than a year or two from now. It seems to be the ideal time now.

I don't think it will be a huge project. Related Midwest doesn't have the resources for a high tower. It will only be a small project.
