This summer - turns parking lots into beaches/beer gardens/coffee houses like Toronto did last summer. We don't have demand for that much parking and so let's get creative!
---
They permitted ordering from restaurants within two blocks to support local businesses and food was simply walked over. It was incredible to see how local/neighbourly these were and it really promoted getting to know those in your community*

*from the next table over.

4 bay/CRU nondescript strip mall to the left.

Where is this from? I am surprised that active modes are higher than transit.

There is a 6-plex in Garneau (85 Avenue, between 107 and 108 Streets) with 3 garages facing the lane, and 3 facing the street. It sits on a 50x150 lot. Now I know that currently, front garages aren't allowed on lane-backing lots. But how would everyone feel about exempting projects that build a minimum of 6 units?

I loath when Planning or SDAB permit front garages on places with lanes or more than 50% with rear garages or blvds.

We need to protect the character of these areas.

i think a blanket exemption for more than six units would be scary...

These are no longer required if in an area under the Mature Neighbourhood Overlay iirc, but of course SDAB could overturn that.

"“It's radical and it is dangerous, especially with years of economic recovery ahead of us. I have no idea what a congestion tax is, but I'm sure it will cost you a lot of money,” Councillor Mike Nickel said in a statement. "

Maybe he should do his job and talk with Staff on how planning and transportation management works. His tweet was an alarmist "the war on cars is here". How many millions (billions) do all levels of government spend on roadways in Edmonton?

Next 10 years is bold. The goal is the current Vancouver modal split.

I seriously doubt Edmonton will get there. You might as well be comparing the geography of the moon and Venus.
