Weird to see the floating glass box more complete than the rest.

I like that the glass has a slightly different tint then the first tower. Clearly see that they are part of a cohesive project without being too similar.

This type of cohesiveness and continuity without being boring is solid.
..A welcome alternative to the grey and white random crosses and Tetris pieces, random coloured panels, and blank walls going up around town.

There are no renders of this building with the new roof design, but I can now confirm that the amenity floor below the mechanical penthouse is the 29th habitable floor. I remember the first tower was listed at 32 and ended up being 33, so same story here.

Nice little peak of the Claridge tower here. Interesting that, despite its elevation, it actually manages to crack the tabletop slightly when viewed from this distance.

I have to say, while i dont hate the Dale overall, I'm still quite disappointed at the ratio of spandrel vs glass. Just imagine how good the east side of the first tower would've looked if it was made of glass instead of 80% spandrel.

Never really thought of it. Now that you mention it, that is a LOT of spandrel. Those units don't have any more fenestration than any other in the building.

I have noticed, but I'll take a spandrel curtain wall over all brick every day of the week, even if the vision glass is only 20% of the surface. The windows are nice and flush and it breaks up what could otherwise have ended up another 'Ottawa Special' cinder block building with punch hole windows.

Is this a rental building? Explains the low amount of vision glass. Assuming an insulated spandrel has better insulating value than vision glass alone.

Could the spandrels have been coloured darker to blend in during daytime?

Hopefully these are not like the spandrels across from our-lady-of-hintonburg, they were glazed and had a crappy peel and stick coating on the inside pans, which promptly burned in the sun and melted. Always amazes me that there are manufacturers who would put out such obviously shtty products in 2023.
