The concrete wall between The Orpheum and The Capitol is being covered with whitish glass spandrel panels which appear to have music sheets printed or etched on them.
They're a bit subtle for that space - I had hoped for stone or brick to add weight to the podium (esp. next to transition from the brick of The Orpheum).
Having a music score as part of the wall treatment on Seymour is a simple way to indicate that the podium portion of The Capitol Residences is the music arts space next door to the Orpheum. Wasn't there supposed to be a 'Performing Arts High School' included in the podium space, as well as new facilities for the VSO to use - new rehearsal space, individual practice rooms and direct access to The Orpheum stage from the Capitol podium so show trucks and buses can use the Capitol loading dock instead of taking up a lane on Seymour to load in & out?
Pic by me today of the top (note the concrete divider on the subpenthouse deck not seen on the model, and what is that concrete box on the subpenthouse deck?):
Wow, the ENTIRE building is spandrel. Pretty sure that nub at the top is just the bucket for pouring concrete... you can see the thing hanging on the side that is supposed to latch onto the crane.
The angled window (with Mondrian-ish colour blocking) that's boxed-in (hopefully with red cladding) on the podium looks like it extends down to become the canopy for the parking garage entrance.
The aluminum panel band across the upper part of the podium looks complete (and just bends in - doesn't add anything at all).
