I dream of a time when State Street from the north end all the way to at LEAST I-80 is actually a desirable road and not a huge barrier to urbanism and walkability.
Amen and Hallelujah!

Thanks stayinginformed! (Takes off the mask). Stenar, that font is just a placeholder. The real one will be the most amazing use of Comic Sans ever!

Marvland, Congrats on the project. I am watching the RDA meeting right now and wanted to give a second congrats on the reduced rate.

So, which partner were you? The speaker, one of the couple, the one behind the couple or the one not present?

Curious minds and all

Sorry for the late reply. High end condo's sitting on the market is not something unique to the Utah market. In visiting the Trump tower in Chicago recently I was surprised to find out they have many units that have never been sold. That tower was completed in 2009.

Thanks Makid! Unfortunately I was the one that was speaking. I have been working in SLC for a long time and it was really important for us to have local finance as part of the picture. We hope other business folks follow us out to the west side. It's the future IMHO. The EDLF and RDA loan programs are a tremendous resource in SLC. Two of the most progressive finance programs in the country.

Sports retailer evo to build new campus in Salt Lake Granary district

https://www.deseretnews.com/article/...-district.html

The project will be located in the Granary district of Salt Lake City, just south of downtown, and will include renovation of a 100,000-square-foot brick, timber and concrete block building that will house an evo retail store, local retailer L9 Sports, a hotel, dining options, an art gallery and creative workspace. The campus will also include an “All Together Skatepark” as well as other recreation options, Trause said.

A post on the architects instagram showing the building.

Kablam granary

Granary is finally happening. . Love it! CAMPUS SLC . Multi use indoor sports complex with restaurants, an indoor skate park and more. Right down the street from the Industry SLC project, Industry's (rumored) acquisition of the Pickle Company project and an upcoming mid block development west of Kilby. Also under-reported was USA Climbing team relocating from Boulder Colorado to the Industry SLC project as a major tenant. Climbing makes its Olympic debut in 2020. Also making its debut in 2020 is skating and Vans is partnering with the State Fairpark to build an Olympic skate oval with asirations of the USA Skating basing in SLC. Nice to see some of the more interesting new some summer games gaining steam in Utah to go along with the Winter stuff.

Yeah, I was hoping it was a placeholder. But y'all could've chosen almost anything else, even for a placeholder.

No worries, you did very well

I too am hopeful for good growth on the West Side. I live in Rose Park just over 1 mile away from your project and will be there as often as I can. My wife loves the whole concept as well

I love the Evo project. So great that they are rehabbing that old building, this could be a great catalyst for Granery

Does anyone know how much land the Evo project will cover? Is it just the buildings themselves, or will it cover a larger portion of the block? Either way, I think this is a great project for the area.
