I wouldn't think so. The gentlemen who bought it was the person who was the mortgagee originally and called the loan in from my understanding.

Or about $145k per unit. Pretty cheap.

I agree, as the mortgagee it only made sense for him to buy them himself and sell them at a discounted price. It will hopefully sell fast and get rid of an inventory of 75+ Condos for sale in the city.

Conversion of the Lakeview Inn and Suites on Prospect West to a Holiday Inn Express has begun. Will remain open during renos that will last approx. 5-6 months.

There's a new residential development off of Woodstock Road just outside of the city. Interestingly, it will be on a private water/sewer system which I am always skeptical of:

Quote:
Welcome to One Tree Orchard! A complete community with strong emphases on the preservation and enhancement of the natural beauty and ecological diversity of the development. This development offers the opportunity to live in a sustainable community offering central water supply, community gardens in each phase, a conservation area (approximately 104 acres) and Community Covenants. Every home owner will get a free energy/electrical home design. This is truly a unique opportunity to be part of a local community that will be preserving the beauty of the land and ecosystem while maintaining and owning your home and land.
Also, noticed some activity at another location on Woodstock Road where someone tried to build a townhouse development about 10 years ago. They poured the footers for the first phase but nothing happened beyond that. The lot was sold earlier this year for $550k.

The Property that was bought earlier this year for $550K is going to be known as Townhouses at Silverwood. there will be 20 Units total with Prices starting at $199,000.00, I believe they are Pre Fab homes from Maple Leaf. first ten will be in and ready to go in about a months time.

That's an odd spot for townhouses.

Metal framing for the new Irving in Hanwell started going up last week.

From the Fox:

Quote:
It's official, Fredericton's new tallest building will be on Queen street. A nine storey, 48 unit mixed-building has been approved, after City Council passed third reading of a by-law to increase the allowable building height from 12 meters to 29.3 metres--making it the tallest building downtown.

Is that the new condos?

Edit: Emporis says the NB Power building is 40m. It's still going to be the tallest.

That's the new building between the Legion and Westpoint. Regardless on if it is the tallest or not, it's still going to be a big impact on the Freddy Skyline. I'm looking forward to seeing it go up.

Now if only we could get TDTower2 built....

It's a mixed use building with a ground floor restaurant, second floor offices, and the rest rental apartments.
