Fiaa

Did anyone hear about the large amounts of flights being re-directed to Fredericton that were aiming for Montreal?? From what I understand, we got quite a bit of traffic in the early hours of today thanks to the lovely storms in Quebec.

I think it was 2 planes with about 400 people, according to CBC at least.

KFC on Main Street getting ready to reopen. Appears there is a eat-in area as well in the refurbished building

Seems that construction across the city has almost come to a stop. I assume it's the cold weather.

I'd assume it's the Cold weather and all the ice; that combined makes it treacherous to walk, let alone try to build anything outside.

Still, once spring comes, we've got the new tower next to the Legion that should get rolling pretty quick, as well as the final? phase of the Corbett Centre (someday I'll spell that right. ). Hopefully we'll start hearing some more projects come spring too.

That's not the final phase; RioCan's site plan still has two stand-alone retail spaces and another multi-unit building on it.

Right. I forgot about the multiunit building that will face Bed Bath and Beyond, and the Pseudo Tim's location across from the Proposed Gas Bar (brand name for Costco Gas Bar I guess. )

Yea most excavators are covered in snow. Still some work being done at 2NC next to the Ambulance base, despite the weather.

Hopefully they will start to list some more of the future stores on there besides the Home Sense one. Hoping for Old Navy

Read this AM that building permits for 2013 were only approx. 96 million. First time in many years Freddy did not reach the 100 million mark. City is anticipating 2014 to start off on a strong note however.

Not completely stopped it seems. They did some work on the lot next to the Legion over the past few days. Noticed the excavators were moved (and some workers driving around in the back), and a few fresh piles of dirt along the road.

Was by there at lunch, looks like they have started the foundation for the building.

Also, there appeared to be some activity at the Relish Burger spot in the adjacent strip.

Looks like this is as far as they've gotten at Relish uptown...a ways to go yet. Posted on their twitter page.

Wow, what's taking so long? Is Freddy that tight for contractors or what?

I believe it was due to a slow design process. Contractors may not have started until after the holidays.

There also looks to be some activity in the only vacant spot left (in the Dollarama strip).

Just checked the site plan, which has been recently updated, apparently it will be a dental office.

http://www.riocan.com/Content/PDF/sitePlan/271A.pdf

According to the Relish Facebook page they plan to open on Feb 20 uptown.

the Condominium located at 700 Union street was Auctioned off last Thursday. I believe the remaining 13 Units went in the Auction. Hopefully they will sell quickly....
