I thought Brentwood had been identified as a new Supercharger site a while back, but that seems to have fallen apart as well. I'm not sure what's going on.

I stand corrected.

Thanks for the corrections.

Well it's okay. It doesn't matter if that 3-level outlet is kept or replaced. Speaking of which, I looked at the early plans which shows the outlet would've been replaced with an extended interior, new anchor outlet, and access to underground parking from Brentwood Blvd.

Yeah,
That Sears end of the mall has always been scheduled to be redeveloped.
Anyone that moves in thto the Sears building wouldn't want to spend a lot on leasehold improvements and would have to move out during redevelopment.
I could still see a Telsa Dealership and service centre temporariy moving into the ground floor.

That end of the mall is currently Phase 3 of the project (Phase 4 being redevelopment of the old mall itself).

Theatre capacity would be much higher than the licensed capacity - so I guess they track patrons' purchases?

At the Marine Drive VIP Cinema, you can have your drink at the restaurant portion (within the theatre complex) and take your drink (and order) inside the theatre.
The application doesn't say what the theatre occupancy is - so just curious what %age they think will drink.
It'll be less than 100 drinkers per theatre.
OR is the 466 the total occupancy of the 5 theatres?
5 very small theatres?

This one will also have a sitdown dining area within the theatre complex:

Maybe in the future, the "Amazing Brentwood" sign mounted on the cinema building could be replaced with a OLED display showing the posters of the films currently playing in VIP Cineplex. Just an idea I thought of to make the mall's cinema attractive.

Doubt it - that's critical for the Landlord's mall identification and branding
- they wouldn't hand it over to a tenant.

they can use the plaza screen, they've been playing things for OEB and the new Adidas on the screen lately.

It's too bad about the placement of the tree in front of the screen though, now that it has leaves on it, it blocks the screen.

The VIP cinemas at Marine Drive are around 120 capacity for the adult only theatres. The 466 also includes staff so not due if it's directly tied to the seats in the five theatres. Or maybe 90 seat theatres?

some of the VIP theatres in Coquitlam are very small. They took some of the older big theatres and divided them into two smaller ones, with smaller screens. They are ok, comfy seating but they don't always show the big blockbusters on those screens, just smaller movies or they show the blockbusters a few weeks later, I saw one of the Star Wars ones in one of them.

very much like this size.

Critical? That building is literally covered with the word Brentwood already. Plus there's already a large sign on the street below with the same logo. How many other malls in the area do you know that are covered with the name of the mall to the same extent?

I was thinking it's like replacing a sign at the top of a tower (and yes, some landlords, rather than tenants, have such signage). Most malls aren't tall enough for a high level sign. Oakridge may have had one along the Cambie frontage or on the office tower.
I think Park Royal has one high up visible from the Lions Gate Bridge.
Here, it's visible from SkyTrain.
I'd expect a large Cineplex sign along the curved facade.

They had some signage on the opposite side of the building in some renders:

Didn't most malls had small movie theaters? Guildford Town Centre used have a cinema inside the mall, before being replaced by the cinema that still exists on the Mall's parking lot today.
