It is weird. I was just in Tokyo for a week. (Impressive infrastructure, unimpressive architecture.) But something I like
a lot is that there apartment and commercial buildings that are only accessible by what we would consider to be alleys. It leads to a lot of interesting spaces. It would be good to see more of that in Chicago, considering how relentless our grid can be. Wonderful, but relentless.
