Tower 4 would be east of Tower 3.
I think that is Phase 3.

Thanks.
Good to hear they're 90% leased in the new part.

Tower 5 resembles Tower 3.
The stepped tower is probably an effort to transition to the single family houses to the north.

I got the tower number wrong but glad to see Shape is moving forward with the next phase.

Height of tower 5 should be 166m, tower 6 should be 123m.

No they didn't, they are still moving ahead with it (at this point at least, can't say with 100% certainty in the present environment, but the plans are being finalized so it's pretty certain)

A massive redevelopment has been proposed for the current site of Brentwood Town Centre. Since Shape Properties purchased the mall in 2011, they have been developing a master plan for the site and are now seeking approval from Burnaby City Hall. They are looking to start construction as early as late 2013, with the first phase projected to be completed by 2016. The current mall is not in the short term plans, but it is intended to be redeveloped eventually.

The Brentwood Station blog is a great resource for this project as well as SOLO District across the street: http://brentwoodstation.blogspot.ca/

Great updates and amazing to reflect on all of this.

I miss driving up to the old SB for my macchiato in 2002/03 and leaving my car running cause it was so convenient and dead.

Wrong project (same developer, though).

That's City of Lougheed's phase 2.

They also released Amazing Brentwood's next phase (2) tower renderings.

Ya totally crazy. I remember seeing the old service centre on the corner like 10 years ago and thinking no way this really happens. Happy to be wrong this time!

Any word on whether Grosvenor's big intentions made public over a year ago are still active, or have they gone into an indefinite hibernation?

Very active to my knowledge. I'd expect to hear some more on it quite soon.

Thanks.

In the reporting at the time, the height figures floated were surprisingly unambitious for such a prime site in a municipality that's pushing new limits (e.g., mid forties, if I recall). I wonder if that has changed since then.

Does anyone know if the McDonalds has opened? I was checking out the area on Google Maps today and I saw the McDonald's pin has now appeared.

Ya I have no idea what sizes are in store there. I originally thought a lot taller than what was last floated, but we'll have to see what Grosvenor has in store. They have always tended to be a bit more conservative than other developers in town.

Not open yet. I did see a worker there recently tinting the windows that look into the kitchen

Why would they do that. Having windows looking into the kitchen should be a good thing. It provides visibility and helps eliminate conspiracy theories about what goes into your big mac.
