I just don't know how something like that can conform to modern day fire codes. Don't get me wrong, I love this project but I question the materials being used.

It would appear so. There are beams sticking out on all sides, including along the front so the lower portion can be installed. Moar cantilever.

Thanks for the updates. Looking interesting with some of the glazing up.

Does anyone know what the floor plans for the units look like? Tried to check out their website. It almost gave me a stroke but did not deliver on floor plans. They are described as "high end" rentals but look like they'll all have to be lofts.

I trust Alston Properties to do a good job. I almost rented a place in The Porter House; it is fantastic. This makes me more nervous, but I am excited to see the final project.

Are the little front patios on that place still unfinished?

I guarantee the issue is the City and not the Developer...

Maybe.

The City certainly has a track record of moving goal posts - but assuming that isn't the case here, the onus is on the developer to figure out what is acceptable first.

The street side entrances to that building along Rorie certainly look unfinished or half-assed at best.

Level 1 & 2 are two storey units, level 3 single storey units and level 4 & 5 are two storey units. Once they get closer to completion a marketing website will be launched.

True, but you'd have to find a super cheap (and dumb) developer not willing to push this puck over the goalline by not finishing the patios...

Porter House was marketed as private entrance units like townhouses of sorts. There's nowhere near enough room for a Walkway + patios, yet only stairs at either end - I think this is the final form.
