No, tho both sound fun. I'd like to say I'm a ninja... Reality is that during my time at UT I was deeply involved with the Urban Development Society and the Graduate Real Estate Society and today I help both groups put on DT Austin TREKs.

If you mean that small building at the base of 360, I think it's a Cirrus Logic building. There is info about it buried in one of the many Austin threads.

There some pretty impressive demolition going on at 300 E. Riverside. I couldn't find a rendering of the apartments that are replacing the ones being torn down. It seems like we had a rendering posted somewhere.

It's a 7-story project. It's 79 feet to the "loft roof" and probably another 8 or 9 feet to the highest part of the roof.

Here's the permit page. The building elevations is file number 007.

With all these cranes and projects going up, I wonder what the skyline will look like in five years? Or even just a year from now?

My wife worked at 9th and Congress back in the 80's and hasn't been dt for at least 10 years. I took her today and she hardly recognized the place. I haven't been dt since the JW started construction. Saw three extended buses...very cool...traffic was bad, but there were people everywhere. Very vibrant, especially the entire length of Congress to the Capitol. We had just passed through SanAntonio. We have sooooo much going on compared to them or just about anyone. Once we get the buildings up along the lake, and the projects up along Waller,
we will will truly have an amazing skyline from all angles. My wife summed it up...Austin is a big city now. I still can't believe the changes. Too bad you guys can't see dt with fresh eyes like mine, but while the pics from this forum are great, nothing beats seeing whats happening in person...in that respect, I envy you guys.

Tell me she hasn't lived in the Austin area for 10 years yet hasn't been downtown. That's...almost really... *blank*.

Yeah the skyline is much more different than it was...mm...even 10 years ago!

Farther back in the 90s, I remember returning from Kyle, Texas at night, we would pass downtown and see the few buildings at night. I always thought 100 Congress was about to collapse (or sideways) because of the lighting xD.

I'm referring to this skyline. It's beautiful in a different way:

We've been in the Austin area since '81. Moved to Wells Branch in 1990, then east of RR in '96 where we' ve been since. Other than passing through on 35, yeah she hasn't hasn't actually been into dt for about 10 years. But she worked dt for ten years so she does have some bragging rights. This highrise thing just isn't her thang. But we do take a trip home to NY and she definately get a kick out of NYC.

The site plan for a 92' 9-story apartment building at 18th and Guadalupe was filed. The elevation drawings begin on page 26.

Edit: I checked the location on Streetview which was updated just over a year ago, and two of the corners at that intersection were construction sites.
