What kind of great achievement is this when already no vehicles are able to enter footpath in this stretch? The main problem was slope of vehicles entrance road to government offices, pedestrians were unable to negotiate comfortably about 3 feet depth of the entrance gates. A few street hawkers were also creating problems. And milk parlour by occupying good space of footpath was also creating problems. Unfenced depth of staircase between Townhall and Gandhi Park was also a safety issue. Other issue was vehicles parked on zebracrossings on the way to footpath from zebracrossings at both AB Shetty Circle and Clock Tower. If possible make these junctions more safe by closing down all extra roads/entrances going to nearby buidings and construct entrances to buildings away from junctions. For example, entrance from Police Station to AB Shetty circle creates enough safety issues there.
I think they are going to work on this stretch again and again with whatever amount is allocated to enhance pedestrian infrastructure in future also.

Road will be widened with a gardening at middle, underground cables, central command centre, dustbins with RFI tags, automatic waste management vehicle, e-toilet, CC camera, bus tracking system, wifi centre, information board, walkway, road side green cover, LED, smart busstop, kiosk centres, bus, train, flight information, well equipped shops. MCC will also get a Rs. 4.26 crores 8000 sqft three floor smart annex building to compensate for the space occupied smart city offices and command command centre at the current building.

I think most use of these are during crisis time. Mostly this system was not ready in Mangaluru during lockdown period. Anyway the government should give priority to footpath, drainage etc.

ನಗರದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 9 ರಸ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಪಾಲಿ ಕೆಯು ಸ್ಮಾಟ್ಸಿಟಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಸುಮಾರು 20.50 ಕೋ. ರೂ.ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ 18.13 ಕೋ. ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಬೆಂಗರೆ ಫೆರಿ ರಸ್ತೆ, ಬೆಂಗರೆ ಫಿಶರೀಶ್ ರಸ್ತೆ, ಮುಳಿಹಿತ್ಲು ರಸ್ತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಗುಜ್ಜರಕೆರೆ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಬೇರೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪಡಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಲು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಗುಜ್ಜರಕೆರೆಯನ್ನು 4 ಕೋ. ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾವೂರು ಕೆರೆಯನ್ನು 8 ಕೋ. ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗು ವುದು. ಕದ್ರಿ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ ವನ್ನು 12 ಕೋ. ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಗ್ರ ವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಎಮ್ಮೆಕೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಈಜು ಕೊಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ 24.94 ಕೋ.ರೂ. ವಿನಿಯೋಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ಸಿಟಿ ವ್ಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಮಹಮ್ಮದ್ ನಝೀರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Main focus of Society 5.0 is Data Science (data economy/society/environment or data-driven economy/society/environment) along with other technological advancements. Economics, Society, Environment/Ecology and everything else will be controlled by simulational/computational modeling 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12, analysis and passing on new knowledge (generated by artificial intelligence) to humans/societies/governments to take final decision using their wisdom (in a few cases like mobility/manufacturing, vehicles/plants will have autonomous control - cloud mobility, cloud manufacturing) - stochastic adaptive/optimal control/administration/governance. I have already listed a big list of informatics needed by Tulunadu or Mangaluru in this thread itself ( page 18 post #353). All these subjects on informatics are needed for Society 5.0 or achieving SDGs using efficient digital techniques. Managaluru Smart City Command Control Centre is now used as a command & control centre for the entire district. We can continue doing this. Economical, social, environmental/ecological, educational, agricultural, manufacturing, marine and other data of the entire district can be analyzed here and actions can be taken. Similarly we need command and control centres in other districts of Tulunadu (& Malenadu, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada etc) 1 2. Hope that our educational institutes pave way for 'Super Smart Tulunadu'.

The Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) has recently begun the implementation of its QR code-based Solid Waste Management System (SWMS), which is set to cover all the 60 wards of Mangaluru, in a phased manner. The first-of-its kind system will increase the efficiency of solid waste management in the city multi-fold.
The first phase of SWMS will cover 88,000 houses - so far 5,000 houses have been installed with the QR codes. The commissioning of QR codes for the rest of the houses is expected to be completed by the end of November.
The smart garbage collection system will help the City Corporation track the movement of the garbage vehicles, monitor the status of the garbage collection, provide provisions for the public to record complaints about garbage collection. The door-to-door primary garbage vehicles will scan the QR codes displayed at the gates of the houses, while collecting the garbage. The vehicles will then transfer the garbage to the secondary garbage vehicles and from there the garbage will be sent to the dumping yard.
The QR code installed at houses can also be extended for other public services such as payment of electricity bills, property tax, and phone bills, among others.
Mangaluru Smart City will be one of the first smart cities in Karnataka to go live. Many major IoT and technology-enabled solutions like monitoring city bus transport with Intelligent Transport Management System, disaster management & emergency response, air quality of the city using environmental sensors, city surveillance, variable message system; public address system, geographical information system, and One Touch Mangaluru portal are already deployed and are functioning 24x7. The Integrated Command and Control Centers (ICCC) of Mangaluru Smart City, a major component of the smart city project, is already being used as a war room for the administrators to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

So, after goods, humans/animals now houses also have QR code or aadhaar card! Where should be QR code be placed? Currently, those houses connected to main road through a walking lane keep waste bags in main road itself. Some also use backdoor to keep waste on road behind their house. They may have to stick QR code everywhere. What are the ways waste collectors have to evade scanning requirements? Can't these QR codes be scanned directly from a book instead of visiting houses? How nice if we had a way of changing QR code dynamically now and then.
