25 years ago Toronto's waterfront was atrocious but the city has been re-claiming it, bit by bit. This latest section is the jewel in the crown and truly transformative. There's really only one small bit of waterfront that needs desperate attention; the area by the ferry terminal.
I wonder where we go from here though. These days, 10s of thousands flock to the lakeshore on the weekend. With the downtown population continuing to spike, these places may get ruined by overcrowding/over use. Hopefully, Toronto can re-visit proposals like Rail Deck park without buildings covering a third of it. We're going to need every square inch of green space we can find.
