Was "Richmond City Centre" or "Minoru Park" worse than Brighouse? At least they wouldn't be confused with Bridgeport.
I think Bridgeport Station is the real culprit in terms of this confusion, considering how far from Bridgeport Road the station is. Bridgeport should have been named Fraser River or North Arm Station or something. (Heck, even "Richmond-Costco Station" would have been better.)

No, "Richmond-Costco Station" is much more worst.

I believe one of the reasons it's called "Bridgeport" is because the area is called Bridgepoint.

The REAL CULPRIT is the City of Richmond insisting that it be called "Brighouse-Richmond City Centre Station". "Brighouse" was tagged on to create some historic nostalgia, few know that was the area's name. Not to mention it really made the station name far too long.

Why not just abbreviate the name to Richmond City Centre and leave it at that? It'd be so much simpler and we wouldn't be wasting energy quibbling over it.

Agreed! I'll start covering up the Brighouse with spraypaint.

Re: Commercial-Broadway Station Name - couldn't we do an "East Broadway" for that station and a "Central Broadway" for the Canada Line?

As for alleviating congestion at Commercial-Broadway, this would easily be taken care of when the M-Line extension is built to allow transfers at Broadway-City Hall. This would enable load balancing between the two stations (assuming relatively similar times to downtown).

If it really is so expensive to increase Expo capacity from Commercial to Waterfront, then I agree, perhaps we should just extend Millennium a few kilometers west, and put the extra load on Canada Line from Broadway to Waterfront.

Gotta love Skytrain standardization, when Broadway (arguably the busier major street) appears first in one station name (Broadway - City Hall), and last in another (Commercial-Broadway). geeeeeez....
Fire department requested the name change because it was causing confusion for emergency services

new TimHo's at VCC

It looks like the new TimHo's at C-Line Vancouver City Centre station just has to wait for the paint to dry before opening. Perhaps Monday?

Haven't found it yet?
Opposite the Vancouver Centre London Drugs on the Mall level.

Jugo now has some competition.

Translink is finally waking up to how to make more money. They've issued an RFEOI (request for expressions of interest) for advertising both on it's webpage and via it's next bus text service. Considering the amount of visitors and page hits they receive they will get some interest. It certainly won't be a cash cow for them but it should be enough to cover those services and still place some extra cash in the coffer.

I'm not actually sure if I agree with putting advertisements on their website... I don't really know if there are any transit agencies with ads on the sites... It really depends on how it is placed and how it is integrated with the design.

Would be too confusing when the M-Line is extended westwards.

Hopefully they can put a sign out by where Jugo Juice with an arrow pointing you towards Tim Hortons. I was surprised to even find out that corridor existed!

Strictly speaking, they aren't allowed a sign in the Canada Line corridors as it is a unit under Vancouver Centre and not InTransitBC. However, they can, if allowed, put a sign right by the staircase that is somewhat visible to Canada Line users.

When its all open, it's the quicker way from VCC to Granville (E-Line & M-line):
  • Walk past London Drugs & TimHo's
  • Walk past Scotia Bank
  • Take the mall corridor to the Bay
  • (Stay on the Bay men's floor)
  • Walk all the way north though the Bay to the SkyTrain mall
  • Continue North through the "The Hudson" mall to the Dunsmuir SkyTrain mezzanine

Way too confusing. Station names should be kept short and concise.

I'd go for:

Finning Station
Main Street-Kingsway Station
Broadway-Cambie-City Hall Statopm
VGH-Oak Station
Broadway-Granville Station
Arbutus-Broadway Station (because of the future streetcar)
MacDonald Station
Alma Station
West Point Grey Village Station
UBC-Allison Station
UBC-Terminus Station
