The renderings really didn't capture how much the facade would extrude out from the windows. This design makes so much more sense to me know and I'm digging it much more.

So, it's official now, The One will be 85 (possibly 86) floors in height. To be finished off by Tridel. Final height should be 308.6 metres.

Great pics Maldives, much appreciated.

I never knew Forma was actually under construction. It had been so long since it's initial proposal that I just figured it would never be built. As for The One, wasn't it suppose to be 338 meters? Was it cut back due to it's ongoing financial problems?

The podium is glass. The tower rising above it is sculptured metal as depicted.

The One | 308.6m | 85s | Tridel | Foster + Partners l u/c

Tridel has been selected by the Receiver to take over as development and construction manager (early 2025). The present plan is to build only to the original 309 metre height but there remains a possibility that Tridel may decide to build taller.

The new Don looks great! But can we please just get rid of the Gardiner? And what is up with the crane? I'm looking forward to being back in TO for the holidays this weekend!

Toronto is still a very car centric city stuck in another era.

A huge chunk of the population demand that they should be able to take 3000 lbs or metal, glass, and rubber with them where ever they go and aggressively block attempts to urbanize/pedestrianize. Sadly, we'll need to wait a generation or 2 (wait for them to die off) before Toronto gets serious about it and takes steps to undo the damage car infrastructure has done to our city.

I've been waiting 20+ years for it to happen but progress is excruciatingly slow. It will likely take another 40 years before any meaningful results are achieved. 2060?
