You can see the top of 5th & Madison from the Boren Street overpass now. And Horizon House II is viewable from the north.

I can't tell you how happy I am that several "fences" have turned into real projects. Well, I guess I can tell you: I'm really quite happy. Smiling in fact.

In recent days, or the past couple weeks, we've heard (numbers approximate -- I didn't even look at page 1):

1. 2201 Westlake has started, according to a press release and forumer eyeballs (and brains!). That's 19 and 13 stories in separate towers. You could say it's one building but they're separate after the first five stories I think. Someone please refresh my memory on that.

2. The 12-story Mirabella retirement home at Denny & Fairview is now digging. That's about 300 units, or 400 if you count nursing units.

3. Today's DJC says Schnitzer started the 12-story, 200-unit Gallery condos on Tuesday. Yeeeeaaaassss. Improving my hood.

4. Don't get me started on Olivian Towers, the 25-story rental apartment next to the Camlin. They've really started work according to eyes and the DJC.

I added The Boylston to the First Hill section of the first post, per discussion in the other thread.

Guys I'm going away for the holidays tomorrow so if you have any edits to the first page they'll have to wait. I'll be back on the 4th.

^Maybe someday the internet will eventually spread to New Jersey...or am I being overly optimistic?

1521 has installed the base segment of their crane.

Really Bond. It's ok to write those passwords down and take them with you.

Personally I'm kind of pathetic. Generally, not only do I stay with the boards, but I also read the DJC, the DPD notices, and even the CMD/Reed industry journal of project updates. Plus the Times and PI, etc. I suppose it would be cool to go totally out of earshot for a couple weeks then return and dive through all that magical stuff at once...but who can wait?

Parc Belltown, taken 12-02-06:

The tower on the south 1/2 (above picture) is topped off.

Mosler Lofts, taken 12-04-06:

Not sure how far behind schedule construction work has fallen. The first concrete pour was about a month behind schedule (based on information from a bulletin posted outside the construction office) and this was before the concrete workers strike.

THANX for the pics.

That hotel expansion is butt-fuckin-ugly. Oh whell, what's the chorus 'round these parts...it's infill.

Don't mean to criticize...I havn't lived in Seattle since September, so I don't see these projects on a regular basis anymore.

I miss the city, but some of these projects are just (embarassingly) gross. What is it with the cheapskate developers 'round here?
