The side of HRS that’s along Hotel Zaza has no windows. You can see it in my post from October.

That must be pretty disappointing for the Zaza residents who went from a nice downtown view to a blank grey metal wall right in front of their windows though....

Oh well, since basically every downtown view is prone to being blocked eventually, save for some very specific buildings, or being on the 40th+ floor of something.

They filed three permits for three phases of the crane removal beginning today through next weekend. That's a bit unusual.

The interesting notch in the southeast corner of the building seems to have been sized for the crane platform (cab-to-counterweights) to fit as it descends.

Tight space, busy street (Lavaca), plus relatively tall crane adding up to slow going?
