Tkachuck has a reputation already, so the refs are going to call everything against him, whether it happened or not lol.

Didn't see the game, but hopefully a good shellacking motivates them to fix the holes in their game.

Another game where the Leafs look like shit for the most part... and another win.

They're toying with my emotions.

5 game win streak. Also keep in mind our star player has been missing. I'll take our shit wins and look forward to our more solid ones. That being said Andersen was a wall last night. And we are doing amazing at killing penalties.

Oh look Gary is being coy about Houston maybe wanting a team. Better pony up a new rink soon Calgaeians because we know where Gary is headed with this.

Houston is expansion fodder, not relocation. It doesn't make any sense for the NHL to relocate any of its franchises willingly, especially one in the West.

When and where was the Count making such comments? It’s been radio silence from the Flames since the election. I have noticed commentators making a point about how much charity work they do though.

It's ESPN via yahoo. Basically it says there's a potential owner in Houston interested. That is all but we all know Bettman holds grudges and is not exactly enamoured by all that happened went on the last little while.

The Jets are like the '84 Oilers out there ... such offensive flair right up and down their lineup and a rock-solid goalie. The Devils were slightly outplaying them in a sleepy back-and-forth game and then bang, bang, bang, bang, bang ... it's 5-1 after two.

The perfect scenario for the Canucks this season is happening... Horvat and Boeser are racking up points and showing great promise for the future of the team, and the Canucks are losing. In other words another high draft pick, preferably a #1 defenseman.

Boeser by the way is leading the Canucks in points and is 3rd in rookie scoring (1st in points per game). Horvat leads the team in goals.

While it looks like Boeser and Horvat are developing into elite players, the cool thing is we have an even better player waiting in the wings in Elias Pettersson. He's leading the SHL (Sweden's top league) in scoring, and he just turned 19 six days ago. This guy has superstar written all over him.

Starting to see some great chemistry on that Hendricks/Perreault/Armia line which deepens the threat. Very exciting times for Jets fans like myself. Should be a great game down in Nashville tomorrow.

New NHL rules slow down the game far too much. My problem isn't with the calls, it is with the lack of consistancy amongst NHL ref's making the calls. One Jets game there was 15 calls, and literally half the game spent with special teams (makes for a slow, boring unexciting game) then yesterday two calls (which is more like it should be). Occasional, rare powerplays/ penalty kills are exciting. Too much and you break the game down.

Contact with the hands shouldn't be a problem. The coaches and players hate the new rule. Freak accidents happen everywhere, and rules shouldn't be made because of them.

The coaches and players may hate it but last season we saw chops at the hands that resulted in mangled hands that jeopardised players careers. It's a habit that players have to break and it may take some time.

Methot's hand was pretty gnarly for sure. But:

A) Freak accident, not at all common.
B) Out for a few weeks does not equate jeopardized careers.

Doesn't matter, slashes to the hands should not be happening. It has been strategy for some teams to target hands, this takes away from the game.

Sure didn't look like it was taking anything away from Lemieux and Jagr...

Lemieux was a freak of supernatural talent but he was still affected by dirty plays all his career.
