About three more floors in one month. Not bad when you consider each floor is different.

Now that Burrard Place has topped off, this is going to be my next favourite to watch rise. Thank you mcminsen!

More like he found me, read the comment on this video https://youtu.be/GD-TQzdHbOU Sent me over 300 pics of Alberni from teardown to built-up.
Great photos, my favorite are close ups of the rebar work on the main column (back bone of the bldg) on the alley side (I will post them on Monday).
He also documented the Cardero and The Landmark from demo to build (150 more pics).
Another of my favorites is a pictures of the little yellow house (The Pacific) at its original location, not sure if it is documented on the thread or not.

This stretch of Alberni has the potential to be one of the most unique blocks of architecture anywhere in the world.

The amount of unique proposals here is amazing.

Like this, I hope they too come to fruition.

I'm pretty sure that is the thickest rebar in those columns I have ever seen on any development. Did Shangri-la have rebar that thick?

That column would be anchoring the tower from tipping over - so Vancouver House may have similarly thick rebar and vertical tensioning (long vertical threaded rods it seems).

The rebar and the cage are the little leagues compared to Dubai and China's mega structures but to me it's the same difference (impressive), it's just at a different scaling.

That looks more than twice as wide on both sides.

Never noticed this detail but some of the balcony edges will have some kind of "fins" to break up the edge:

Rebar Work, tough job, always exposed to the elements and if your not bending down all day tying rebar your hanging on the curtain placing and tying.
I was a labourer (for Key Engineering) for 4 years in the early '90. If a trade was short of a guy, the Super would make me available to drag and shoulder rebar around.
