It's a nice looking building but I'll be kinda sour once it tops out. It'll be a great example of how hard it is for anything to stand out adhering to the height limit. It's a bummer to think that Stelco will be #2 for a while yet.

I like the design overall, but it definitely looks more circular and just completely different than the render. Still like it though!

It seems that glass work on the windows has stopped - it's been weeks.

Looks like the renders to me...? There’s a bunch of new precast panels on site waiting to go up, and they just poured the new sidewalks around the property. Seems like work is still going full speed inside as there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of workers on site.

Crane was jacked up again today. I think they're trying to finish the forming before it gets super cold. They're only about 4 floors away from topping out.

Sorry for the fuzzy quality; should get easier to shoot from my apartment as the leaves fall/ it gets taller

Is this tower crane now the highest object in Hamilton?

Top of the crane should be within 50 feet of Landmark Place, yeah.

I see that beast every morning when I drive down on the 403. Based on the elevations, she's taller than Stelco tower now.

It's pretty wild how big it's gotten. Since I took that pic about 2 hours ago they've mounted more white precast on this side. Watching the panels get carried up by the crane from this distance is both cool and terrifying. I'll try and snap some pics with my DSLR in a few weeks once more cladding is up. Maybe if my super is feeling nice she'll let me up on the roof to get a pic!

It definitely varies from the original renders. The building is more circular than the renders indicate. I'm all for the design, either way. I'm just pointing out a difference.

Yeah but it’s not... it’s a matter of perspective. I can pull out the plans if you would like

it’s a matter of perspective Exactly! I'm not here to argue with you, David. From my vantage point, It looks different from the original renders and plans. I don't dislike the design. I've made it clear that I like the design and the progress of the build. As someone who works in the field, I'm simply making a general observation, not a criticism.

I've got the detailed drawings from city hall. They are building it exactly to spec.

I've never insinuated that they weren't building to spec, nor am I questioning the validity of any aspect of the actual construction.

I've only made a personal observation of the design. It looks more circular than I thought it would be. The renders show a circular design on the residential floors, but it just appears even more circular in pictures and in person. I'm not dismissing the design as lesser than or unappealing. I actually think it's interesting and I like it!

Again, it's a matter of perspective. That's all.

The progression of this build has been great to see and I look forward to continuing to watch this progression as it nears topping out.

I'm curious as to what they will be building in front of this building in the next phase. Will it cover up this building? Will it be shorter? Taller? I am guessing the parking garage will be at least as tall.

Imo for this building the white cladding is what separates it from just looking like another toronto all-glass building. It gives it character. I also love the fact it's super white and not super beige. Makes it stand out and makes it look fresh and clean.

I went into Hamilton yesterday and couldn't believe it when my daughter and I could see the crane from W 5th and fennell. It was pretty cool to see it from up there.
