Yeah. First Street south of Sixth Avenue is about 80% historic buildings. It's quite a nice yet underrated street scape. The building with the "GRAND" sign on it alone has 1 live theatre, 2 clubs and 2 restaurants in it.

St-Jacques (formerly Canada's business district, now lined with posh hotels and condominiums.
I wish all (or most) of the streets downtown were built to that scale (the height of the streetwall in relation to the width of the road)

I would prefer just a hair taller buildings. Besides the fabulous architecture, what's great about this canyon is that there are no setbacks on the buildings. It creates a strong uniform apron. Set backs would have ruined it.
