lr3 imrproved everything lr2 was ok in. sharpness and nosie is one of them, although the luminance slider cant be used because its just a beta version.
NAPP has a pretty good set of videos showing off the new features in LR3. They even have a video on watermarks.

whoops, forgot the link:

If I download the LR3 Beta it will import my collections from LR2, will it not? I think I might as well dl it tomorrow, the beta will run until April 30th, so I imagine LR3 will come out soon after that.

Probably not. Adobe released this Beta to the public earlier than the first public Beta for 2.0. The time span between the first Beta for 2.0 and its release was just over a year. I think the Beta for 3.0 was Oct 2009, so we're about a year out.

I'd really be surprised if it comes out that soon. Adobe hasn't released a date yet and the current beta doesn't expire until April 2010.

What do you guys think is the best underwater camera? I'm looking for something compact to take to the beach and on a few easy dives.

I have a question to generate some discussion...

Does anybody know the number the shutter has been clicked on their camera?

Mine's clocked in at (rounding) 28,000 and it's ~11mo old.

My camera increased the photo name's number by one each time I take a picture but sometimes it goes backwards (like if the camera dies instead of being turned off), so I estimate it at around 9,500. It had 1,300 on it when I got it two years ago. My memory card only holds 64 MB so I can't take tonnes of pictures. I have to be more selective.

It's pricey, yes, but selling my 5D + all of the money I get from licensing shots more than pays for the upgrade. I'm fortunate to be able to make a good amount of money from my shots.
