I mean, the building itself is fine, but I don't think it's amazing or beautiful architecturally. It's still just an off-white and blue glass rectangle.

That said, I think most people are big fans of it despite that, just because: (1) it's on a small footprint; (2) it has no parking; and (3) it has fairly neat design features to fit next to the State theatre. All of those things aren't really things we've seen in new construction in Austin, or really many other cities outside of NY/Chicago, and maybe a few others.

The 6xG crane should be getting another jump real soon.

I'm not sure if this was something shown in the renderings, but the middle of the N/S sides with parallel glass panels is a really nice way to break up the otherwise somewhat monotonous pattern of glass on the rest of the building.

It'd be super cool if that space that was still open was just a completely open gap to the other side (like you can more commonly find in highrises in Asia), but oh well.

It is a great building. My only complaint is that the white pattern doesn't continue all the way around. Why is that?

I like that it doesn't go all the way around. The north side with all the glass looks like it was a larger building that was sliced in half. But I can get why you would like the pattern to go all the way around. To each their own.

I was sad when Katerra folded and took their webcam of The Avenue with them, but then I found that McWhinney had replaced it in what looks to be the same spot.

The Northside are relatively protected views - I'm sure having some floor to ceiling windows looking towards the capital is pretty nice

Nice find. I'll add it to the webcams in the development sticky thread.

It looks really good there but I gotta say that's it's worst side imo! The slim sides make my heart race and the all glazed side, knowing it faces our beautiful Capitol, makes me proud. Welcome to Austin! Big fan of this bldg.
