Please be careful and don't confuse "1000 M" with "1000 SMA". I almost had a heart attack.

As far as mysteriously silent tower projects go, what's up with the mid-block one opposite the Cadillac Palace?

Why would there be lawsuits about the foundations for LaSalle Station? At the time it was built, South Loop was a ghost town, Congress was a Berlin Wall and the designers went to great pains to provide no station entrances south of Congress. A high rise there would be laughable in 1981.

It was only a few years ago that Metra added the entrance at the SE corner of Congress/Financial...

What I've been waiting for...

443 N Wabash, Related project west loop, a couple sites on Michigan ave (South of river, north of Millennium), 35 N State, and I haven't heard about the RFP for Pritzker park in a while.

Sorry, I'm totally drawing a blank on the 'Cadillac' project...across from the theater, I'm assuming? (Work has been draining the past few weeks and I'm starting to lose track on all of these new and upcoming construction projects...which is a good problem to have, I guess )

I don't believe there is any project. The lot is just for sale and some soil testing was done awhile ago. Soil testing doesn't mean there is a project lined up, it just means the owner or a potential buyer wanted to know what the soil conditions are.

There has definitely been a proposal floated around for a 40+ story residential building on that exact lot so I'm thinking you are wrong. It even was posted in this thread within the last couple weeks or so

I'm curious about the CBRE sign.
It offers sixty foot of frontage and a 10800 sqft development site, when the parking lot's 80 ft wide and 14400 sqft.

What you are thinking of is a Randolph tower sized (and massed ) hotel tower that was proposed years ago and was butt ugly. It was reposted a few weeks ago either here or on Chicagoarchitecture.info or some website like that.

How else would you get to City Target at State/Madison for groceries?

Glad this fell through – hopefully we get something smarter proposed this time.

Loop W Randolph Mid-Block Proposal

Again, just to reiterate LVDW's point (I have this feeling it's not really sinking in as it should) - that (elevations above) is almost certainly an extinct proposal for this site. What somebody is currently likely cooking up for the site has yet to be revealed......

Gallery on Wells has new bright yellow climbing forms now. It also looks like the crane is jumping up across the street at Edifice Debevic's (640 N. Wells).

14 floors of self-park is miserable.

This probably wants to be a budget hotel. Nobody but hotel guests will pay for space in the lower floors where you are sandwiched between two party walls on a 75' wide floorplate. Residential is possible in theory, but you won't be able to get top dollar at this site to justify high construction costs.

Hopefully we can get GREC to repeat their success from the Hilton Garden Inn on Wacker Place.
