When they say first residential tower in the last 10 years are they leaving out the Dehzu project across the street and 525 north a couple blocks away?

Why because SoNo describes it 100% accurately?

Are those considered actual towers though?

Also Generation Atlanta is finishing up any day now and is 2 blocks South x 5 blocks West. What are the boundaries of the amorphous "SONO" anyways?

I would say Generation was in the centennial hill area.

Grady curve, North Ave, & Piedmont. But I’m not a fan of renaming.

Atlanta picked to be home for a new GRAMMY Museum

https://saportareport.com/breaking-n...grammy-museum/

Quote:
The GRAMMY Museum Foundation has approved an agreement with Georgia Music Accord to build and operate a GRAMMY Museum experience in Atlanta and implement educational programs across the state.

Brad Olecki, CEO of Georgia Music Accord, confirmed the agreement before Monday’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Atlanta when Chris “Ludacris” Bridges discussed Georgia’s music industry with Shan Cooper, executive director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress.

“We are actually working through the options on the site right now.,” Olecki said. “We are having a lot of discussions right now with property owners, and we are open to ideas. We hope to select a site in the next six months.”

I guess I never counted 126 Renaissance's floors, but it doesn't look much smaller than this one. I'm happy it's coming in though.

Planning permit filed for 552 Boulevard Place to rezone to MR-MU. This is southwest of Ponce City Market, and would allow for more dense residential development (currently it's zoned single family). Specifically, MR-MU sets a max of 12 units per building but with no FAR limit, no non-residential use, and 0.5 parking spaces per unit required. It's intended to be "missing middle" housing.

Does anybody know if there are plans for the old Tech High School at Memorial and Stovall? It's a beautiful historic building from 1922. I believe it's been vacant since 2012. Does the city own it? It seems like a prime spot, just a couple blocks off the Beltline, right next to the major new developments on Memorial. There's also a ton of land between the building and I-20. Seems like they could renovate the building and have a large new apartment building attached to the south.

That site was going to go to WonderRoot, but the organization disbanded after allegations about the founder came out.

I'm not sure what the status is, but I agree with you. You can fit a parking deck and a decent number of apartment units behind the site and, assuming the building is in decent enough condition, covert the existing structure to residential as well. Seems like a solid opportunity for a developer in the future.
