23C with a humidex of 25 and sunny. Absolutely perfect.

Low of 14C this morning.

The warmspot was Egbert, ON at 26.4C. 160 stations over 20C today across 7 provinces. Amazingly only BC, PEI and NFLD did join the party (PEI was 3 decimals off while Alberta had a 20C from last night after midnight).

Warmest low was Port Weller, ON at 16.8C.

The storm is over and we're getting back to normal.
A cool and dry day with a mix of sun and cloud.

Monday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 12 C, the low was 9 C.

Another day of wonderful Indian summer, with peak colours in the nation's capital. Much colder later this week.

It may look like a fairy tale Tancredi, but, when the first of May roles around and there still some snowbanks on your property, it gets a little tedious.

10C currently in Moncton at 10 AM and sunny, getting up to 16C this afternoon. There will be the return of 20C temperature tomorrow and the next day, then a cold front will come through ending Indian Summer.

It looks some eastern reporting stations may fall this weekend, including Charlottetown, Sydney and perhaps both Montreal and Toronto.

Already up to 20 and sunny again today, the 11th day over 20 this October. That beats the last two Octobers, which each had nine days over 20. My station record is 15 in October 2021.

Montreal looks like a given with a forecast low of -4; Toronto is also likely with a forecast of -1 Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Even Windsor could be at risk with a forecast low of 1.

Here in Palermo I would really like to experience this "boredom", but the only boredom I experience is that of long periods, several months, in which the minimum temperatures never fall below 20' and the maximum below 30', it never rains or it rains very little and above all the boredom of a climate where there are never or almost never phenomena such as snow, negative temperatures or fog. THIS IS REALLY BORING. You in Canada enjoy all the forms and phenomena of meteorology, here in Palermo only the ugliest half

In Canada we have a saying:

"If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes or drive ten miles down the road."

When I said tedious, I did not mean boring. Weather in North America is rarely boring. We are probably the most meteorologically active continent on Earth.

Yeah, tedious is a great word. It's less of an issue now that we generally have less snow than when I was a child, but for me winter always means being wet to my knees - shoes soaked, socks wet, pants wet, from all the slush.

We keep getting these stretches of nice weather every October now it seems. So nice that even though I was sick, and still am, I forced myself to wash the car for the last time this year before heading up north. Obviously, colours are more advanced there now.

For the past two months it's been noticeable how much the creek and the lake are dropping. This is officially the lowest I've ever seen it. There are big rocks well up on the beach that should be under water. And there are basically rocky peninsulas being exposed now.

The shitty brown water up against the shore rears its ugly head again. This time two kms north of our regular beach. Also found the exact dividing line. Maybe that's what killed the three dead cormorants I found within the vicinity.

Also found a tooth on the steps for some reason.

And you are absolutely right. In fact, Italian meteorology and climatology enthusiasts are benevolently envious of the climate and weather events that occur in North America. In all Italian weather forums there are threads where they talk about the weather and climate of North America. Probably an important country like the United States has a certain influence on the attention of Italians for North America (here in Italy everything that happens in the USA, politics, economy, scandals, entertainment, etc., receives strong attention from the mass media), but it is also true that your continent records a mix of extreme weather phenomena that are rarer in Europe.
Another country that I envy for its climate is Japan, especially the north-western part, Akita is one of my favorite cities.

I think the foliage in North America is one of the biggest reasons why it’s so nice to live in this part of the world.

Hard to argue against the foliage. No matter how long you live here you don't take it for granted.

The snowfall in Calgary is indeed beautiful but personally I'd prefer it to be December when that happens. I like a proper spring and a proper fall.

St. John's on freeze watch overnight. Temperatures already down to 2 degrees at 9pm. Even my personal station is at 2 degrees, if it were to also freeze tonight it'd be the first time doing so in October.

Survive tonight and we'll make it to at least late this weekend/early next week when things look to significantly cool down.

22C with a humidex of 24 and sunny. Another perfect late October day.

Weird combination... sun umbrella and Christmas decorations.

Turned into a very mild evening.

upload image to url

Low of 10C this morning.

The warmspot was Hamilton, ON at 26.7C.

Warmest low was Port Weller, ON at 15.1C.

We are now at 139 days with a high above 20C. Just 3 more days to beat 2021. We will get one more tomorrow then there is another warm up for Halloween. We'll see.

The record for most 10C+ lows will be broken as soon as today (in a few hours) at 141 days.
