Cal that is actually a "future render" posted by nopacnone over at SSC.

(Note the existence of Parade II and its bridge, 300 Front Street, Shangri-la [in the wrong location], ICE I & II [though in the wrong places], Trump and Success II [which seems too tall].... Which are all not yet built.)

If you follow the link you provided to his Flickr page you will see a "2005" image it was made from. But that in itself is erroneous, because the 2005 picture is actually a shot from 2010, with several buildings photoshopped out, to make it look almost the way the skyline did in '05.

Original post over at SSC

For context, the new downtown rink would go directly to the right of this shot with that large parking lot now owned by Katz and where he wants to build a new tallest tower, condos, and entertainment area.

There are also rumors of the staples lot moving forward with something eventually, but by whom and what is unknown at this time. It was(is) the site for Bell 2, a smaller version of the silver tower.

The lot in front of the black ATB tower had a planned 22 storey office condo during the boom that fizzled out.

A couple of views from a new office building going up in Victoria. Taken July 29, 2010.

Looking towards north downtown:

I have a feeling that Edmonton is going to look quite a bit diferrent in10-15 years! Once they get a few 600'+ towers!!

Sure bet Edmonton will look different in 15 years. However, I wouldn't count on any 600 footers neither do I think that is the direction the city should go. There is a ton of space around the core to be redeveloped and the closing of the airport will only create further competition. Be the city of a million to a million in a half.

Great shot
