Semple hinted as substantially more investment in the REAL site down the road. My prediction is a baseball stadium on lots P and perhaps part of Lot C. I dropped Blue Cross Stadium from downtown Winnipeg in there and it definitely fits. More parking would need to be found however and QCX and Canada's Farm Show (equipment) would need to move to perhaps the Cooperators/Mosaic lots.

The drone started rotating on its own 10 minutes into a timelapse. It takes about a minute to make a second of video in that mode. That was a new one for me, I've had it drift before but not rotate. I might head out there tomorrow morning with my bigger battery.

He got the stadium belt.
I never knew there was a district in Regina known as the Stadium belt. A commendable accomplishment, for sure.

Concrete day out at the long term care facility. The drone controller caps timelapses at 30 seconds (25 minutes of recording), since I had battery left over I did a second one. The orbit looks more interesting than the stationary one so I might do more of those.

I went to take a few photos tonight and ended up taking a lot and a video. Good lighting tonight, just the right amount of cloud. Starting the foundation wall for Costco. Still more piling work, mostly on the east side of the site where they had been parking all week. Delivery of a stacks of yellow things earlier in the week. The yellow things are stormtech storm water detention chambers. They create underground voids to manage surface runoff from the parking lot without having to waste space on a detention pond. They are left open on the bottom placed over a bed of gravel covered with geotextile so some water can seep into the ground. That's probably why there are bedding boxes are on site. The same thing could be done at REAL if they want to use the space where the storm water pond is.

I thought the remaining work on 11th Ave was just the sidewalks, but they are digging holes too. It looks like every unit in the Ronald McDonald house gets its own AC compressor (or heatpump).

But what does announcing on Facebook that you have started construction, when clearly you have not, have to do with being conservative. It's more like they are being duplicitous.

Megamunch moving to new museum warehouse in Regina to continue enjoying his retirement
By
Wayne Mantyka
The province is relocating museum storage and workshop operations to an empty government-owned warehouse on Park Street as part of a $22 million project focused on preservation and research.

When a building hits 100 years old, it’s got some age on it, so we’ll have to see where that ends up taking us,” said SaskBuilds and Procurement Minister Sean Wilson.

The Saskatchewan government has not yet decided what will happen to the historic Albert Street building, though its age and architectural features could make it a candidate for future restoration or redevelopment
Does anyone have a recent photo of this building?

The Sun was not helpful taking photos tonight. A bunch of land servicing work in Westerra. A lot of concrete blocks behind the second Harbour Landing School, probably for the gyms which don't havce walls yet.

Regina has a lot of very important RFPs either out or coming out soon, between the Taylor Field Land, The Yards and GM plant, but unfortunately no longer the RPL. It sounds like a proposal for the GM plant is coming out soon, which will be interesting. I don't expect the Taylor Field Land to struggle to get a few hundred units built with all the other investment occuring there. The super interesting one will be The Yards. I am cautiously optimistic that with all the public funds still remaining for that area's infrastructure, a group will step up with a solid proposal.

How realistic do you folks think these RFPs are and what are you expecting to see from them?
All this along with the pool, Construction , the Brandt proposals and the Data Center, Regina is on the verge of something big
The sask drive corridor if all gets approved, the city won’t look the same in a few years

Several Saskatchewan contractors hired to help build Bell data centre near Regina

By Geoff Smith
May 4, 2026 | 12:14 PM
Crews using heavy equipment have begun moving earth at the site of Bell Canada’s AI data centre in the RM of Sherwood, and the company has named several Saskatchewan contractors selected to help build the project.

In a news release, Bell said Regina’s Hipperson Construction has been hired for early works and building construction management.
This project is the kind of generational build that Saskatchewan contractors have prepared a lifetime for,” Hipperson president Gord Hipperson said in the release.

Other Regina firms involved in the project are Soletanche Bachy Canada, Ardel Steel, Amrize and WaterMark Consulting. Also named were Maxie’s Excavating and Red Pelican, both based in Saskatoon.

Shown in the photo the site is absolutely massive one of a kind build for Saskatchewan

Not far from the LTC. I sometimes ride down Old 16 to get from Wascana Parkway over to Wascana View crossing the old rainbow bridge beside the golf course. A site like that is perfect for the spherical panorama mode. More detail than going up to 400 feet to fit the entire thing in a single photo. Might be able to get out there Wednesday, tomorrow will be cold and windy again.

I took a look at the panorama from Saturday evening at the LTC and you can see the site blurily in the distance if you zoom in. https://cdn.pannellum.org/2.5/pannellum....r.com/65535/55245225626_d9625bbcf3_o.jpg

Only if his drone is equipped with grenades. Those are not allowed.
