Mission Nuestra Señora del Espíritu Santo de Zúñiga built in 1749-1758 near Goliad, TX
Presidio La Bahía, the best preserved Spanish Colonial fort in North America, it was built in the mid 1700s and was just about half a mile away from Mission Nuestra Senora del Espiritu Santo de Zuniga. The mission was where they brainwashed the natives into Catholicism, which failed miserably and the fort was built to keep the French out of the northern territories of New Spain and to protect the mission. The original town of Goliad was built around the fort and this hillside would have been covered with adobe buildings and houses at one point, until it was burnt down in the Texas Revolution during the 1830s.
