6035 Wilson Avenue has been shortened by few floors and is now 50 floors. The project is knows as 6035 Solhouse.

The green building was actually quite well maintained and not as bad of an eyesore, at least compared to the drug den on the opposite side of Wilson.

How convenient of them leaving Nuvo, Pearl and all the others from the rendering. It's going to be a super dense few blocks.

It’s a nice looking building but that is a weird rendering. They placed Central Park House behind 4330 Kingsway for some reason.

It seems like they did it that way to allow them to hide Central Park House more behind that tree (...ostensibly so as not to take attention away from this project....)

Which is (even more) weird when you consider the fact that Bosa is the developer of both projects.

Either that or don't outsource all your rendering jobs to China or wherever,.....where they don't have access to an uber or a skytrain ride to the site and get a better sense of how the towers are correctly placed (or will be) relative to each other.

It would be like Anthem having marketing renderings for Station Square Tower 5 that are working very hard to hide Towers 1-3 in the background.

Bizarre.

plus they really shortened 4330 Kingsway, and lowered (and reversed?) the projecting level of Central Park House.
Maybe they took a shot of Central Park House that was facing from the east towards the west and inserted it.

It's an unfortunate design mishap to have the protrusion on Central Park House face this tower and all the surrounding ones. There will be no views iof Central Park once Perla and all others are done and people will be looking straigh into the pool area from their nearby windows. If they would have placed the bulge on the north side, there would be nice forever views to enjoy.

is that white on the balcony of the Alaska street tower a design feature or just protective film? it makes the building much more interesting with those bits on it.

That’s the design.

Alaska building is quite a mess. It's too bad since it is such a prominent location. Especially the top is hideous.

My guess would be that the desire for views to Central Park (it is the name of the tower after all), plus exposure to South Sun won out over North/Mountain facing views in deciding that design decision.

Of course as you point out it will all be moot when the towers ou mentioned all get built out and block those views as well as cast shadows.

I don't really think the pool area privacy issues matter much since this is no different than developments that have their pool area in the podium rooftop or podium and have people in adjacent towers able to look down onto it.

I think Alaska is the first instance of full pane fritted balcony glass in the Lower Mainland, is that right?
Too bad the pattern/arrangement comes across as a bit haphazard.

Oh, okay.
Either way, it's a lot more impactful than just at the slab edge, like a lot of projects.

that movie studio is going to loom over the houses to its west, already the part that is up just is so imposing compared to the houses.

Does anyone know how bad it is in terms of engineering and temperature wise to have an all black condo exterior? I recently came across a Youtube video where people are painting their roofs white because it reflects the sunlight resulting in 50-60% cooler temperatures compared to black rooftops in desert climates

Just curious because Alaska looks like condo made for batman
