it's sometimes very hard to wrap your head around how massive it is. It almost doesn't seem of this earth or time.

And Manhattan can't contain it all any longer. The skylines of Brooklyn and Queens are adding to the mass (and of course Jersey City). The combined waterfront of Brooklyn and Queens will become a focal point over the next decade as new rezonings begin to impact the skyline even more.

I love it. Park Avenue is being refreshed and renewed in more ways than one. Known for it's numerous, but dated buildings, Midtown is scorching back to life with modern skyscrapers that will forever change how we see office towers.

^Absolutely, the current canopy continues to expand outwards. It's been great seeing the surrounding skylines bulk out and get denser. It is definitely the birth of a new normal (and has been for years).

Meanwhile Manhattan is Manhattan, with more and more supertalls like 270 breaking the 'status-quo' starting to form a new and even higher midtown canopy.

...and so the cycle continues...

This tower is amazing. It will be interesting to see what is built at 250 Park. Most people will disagree with me, but I’d like to see JPMC make a Rockefeller Center-style plaza there.

It looks like little brother will indeed be little brother. A glimpse of some of the plans for the "new" 383 Madison Avenue, with some 270 cameos, from a City Planning meeting...

Can anyone cover 383 Madison Avenue in 270 Park glass? This is exactly what is shown in the visualizations above.

It looks like the roughly ten story base of 383 will be reclad in glass. I like the stone that’s currently there.

Total cinematic masterpiece of a tower. Its impact on the skyline is far greater than that of any of the other nearby supertalls, even the ones that have higher spires and rooflines. And the materials and machine-like forms at the base are just stunning.

This is modernism, perfected.

However, in the above photo ALL I see are the Mechanical Floors air vents in this view. Why So many? It is All of the top tier; 3/4 the the next tier; and very noticeable on all the other tiers though perhaps needed. I know of no other Super Tall that has this Glaring amount of Venting/Mechanical Floors that are So Visible.

I'm not sure all of the vertical line sections are mechanical. At least not all of those near the top beyond the last setback for sure. Maybe they've added this motif to help the vents blend into the overall design of the building.

Overall I think the mechanical/vent floors have been blended in very skillfully into this building's design.

All of these sections seen below are obviously not mechanical. Maybe only the ones above the 3rd to last setback?

Ok here's a diff angle. So the lower 2 appear to be vents but I don't think the upper sections are. But it would be nice to have some closer (probably drone) closeups or input from people familiar with the floorplans.

Thanks for responding to my comment. I can now see that the top two tiers are probably not venting/mechanical, but a design element. That said, I am not sure what my opinion is now, however, I can really appreciate the rhythm and continuity of the facade design.

Its a Great Tower. The night lighting is going to be spectacular!
