One thing I've always loved about Windsor is how so much of its waterfront was kept as parkland, especially just about everything between the distillery and the Ambassador Bridge. I'm old enough to remember when train tracks filled much of that space, and I have no idea if the rail companies still own that land, but when the rails were ripped out something very different could have resulted.

That photo of Windsor is pretty recent but two of those buildings look completely different now. The Doubletree Hotel on the far right side is now dark grey and the Desmarais building (in front of the taller Caesars Tower) is now red and white.

Detroit just finished redoing a huge chunk of their waterfront and now they have several kms of trails just like Windsor does. Can't wait until the Gordie Howe bridge opens (with its bike lanes) so I can do a full bicycle loop of both waterfronts.

That'll be much appreciated!

Rico, is that Ste-Foy? That BMO tower looks new-ish

Spent a night there on a family trip in the late 90s. My brother and I actually got locked in one of the largest shopping malls on the main drag because we didn't realize they closed early that day (my brother had to find the security guard to let us out lol good times)

First time I had excellent wood fired pizza and experienced top notch French Canadian hospitality . The female server didn't treat me and my brother like teenagers.

Also the first time I saw motorcycle riders (Japanese sport bikes) do "catwalk" pop a wheelie and ride for hundreds of metres on that long stretch of stroad. Wild

Nice! I really like that aerial view of the long straight highway cutting through streetscapes, trees and leading into downtown. Toronto also has some great classic shots in a similar vein.

And a bureau en gros.

That Hôtel Plaza belongs in the Ugly Canada thread.

What's going on with this equally hideous thing across the boulevard that's been tagged over and over? https://maps.app.goo.gl/4u9zgSDLVcW6uwhv6

That's a very impressive tree canopy though between Ste-Foy and the downtown.

I see your being kind to the Hotel Plaza. The front has a certain aesthetic I just can't quite name. The back and especial the side vide of the building is far worse.

The only thing that's amazing with Ste-Foy is the amount of land ripe for development. In the not-too-distant future, I foresee this stretch of Grande Allee to be very dense and impressive. Right now it's a very ugly, uncomfortable stroad, but it doesn't have to be.

That's a big university. I would expect more construction than what Ste Foy is seeing if they cashed on international students.

Not great image quality - but great views from one of Saskatoon's premium condo addresses:

Wow nice looking building and some nice views too!

That Landing project is a game changer for Saskatoon. Makes the city look bigger, more urban, more modern

Great, your photos aren't working for me.

https://postimages.org/ is the one I use, if that helps.

imgur.com is the easiest I find since it gives you a bbcode link you can just copy and paste.
