Agreed. My homegirl likes this building because she said its like its wearing a night gown thats backless. I was like but now I see what she is saying with the south facing side being the front of the gown and the all glass side being the backless part. I told her to stop smoking good weed because its the only thing that made me kind of see what see was saying

I mean, you could just about slide it in between 6 X Guadalupe's columns.

Certainly from this perspective! What will be interesting is how many more super-slim towers get built in downtown as the larger lots get gobbled up by developers. I know it's not the same situation here as it is in NYC, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc....but one can dream!

Definitely no expert, but I think the fact we already got one bodes well for the future!

If all towers were at this size and proportion, the Independent and Austonian would look like supertalls. I kinda wish it looked that way.

But without block sized podiums, where would you put all of the cars? We need those...

Agreed. You won't find enough people able to feasibly live happily in Austin without a vehicle until we have a fully fleshed out public transportation system. Granted, we're getting to that point where we very well might be having fully autonomous vehicles where they could potentially be summoned as well as fully autonomous taxi/ride sharing...so who knows?

Maybe they could do something with car elevators like they do in Japan.

In my ideal downtown, there's no vehicles. No parking spaces. No valets. Just people walking, living, breathing the way nature intended.

Seriously, couldn't agree more!
I'd add a full network of underground transit though!

I was putting off saying this, but I wish I liked this as much as everyone else.
