Lot's of imported tech money. Nothing but awkward dudes with minimal social skills, no women, and way too much money on their hands.

I see them cruising the bar areas all the time with no one ever in the car, but they make sure to rev the engine in a douchey "pay attention to me!" way... as if it's going to somehow get them the attention they desperately seek.

Maybe they don't prioritize these "skills" the way you do. It's not very nice of you to project your own belief on what makes a well-rounded person onto the entire population of this city. As a tech person with a very expensive sports car who always drives it alone, I take offense to this.

Yeah but do you rev the engine when driving through crowded areas? That's the important part that I think you missed.

Depends on the crowd. At a car show? Most definitely, yes.

I don't rev it. Otherwise people will throw shoes and garbage at me. Or garbage shoes.

I enjoy seeing guys in really nice sports cars cruising around DT. I'd enjoy it more if any of them asked me if I want a ride...LMAO

Good. This one seems to be years in the making.

Does anyone have info on the VMU project by the moon tower on S.1st? I don't think there has been any work done on it in a couple of months.

SHI International building

This overview is very nice. Buildings B and D are opening in September, while A and C have an expected groundbreaking coming in the fall.

Site plan with elevations was posted to the AULCC page. It's not very tall - only 50 feet or so.

Yikes! Big fire overnight on Banister just across 290/71 from my hood..

Started on a construction site for a residential building but unfortunately spread to the neighboring apartments.

Developers are buying the property at 2209 South First Street. It's the "End of an Ear" record store.

https://www.statesman.com/news/20190...h-first-street

Also, Anna's Toy Depot is moving to the Brodie Oaks shopping center from their current location at 2620 South Lamar. I don't know if that means they're just moving, or if that shopping center is being redeveloped.

End of an Ear has a store on Fortview (actually their address is Clawson but it's at that intersection with Fortview) just down from my work. Didn't even know they had a store on S.1st

South 1st was their old location. They moved over to Clawson a couple of years or so ago.

That's a big win for the area since Nate Paul originally planned storage units for the property.
