The 191 College proposal is grotesque, almost as though they were purposely trying to make it that ugly.

Ha Ha...i was trying to remember where Maldive posts from but is too supercilious to identify the city the projects are in, then I saw this and thought....ah yes.....Toronto.

These Toronto Specials are comical....future generations are going to howl at them.

In case the clearly visible CN Tower in the renders wasn't enough of a clue...

CN Tower
Streetcar tracks
standoffish attitude of the rendering people

but towns/ rows/ semis podiums like they are exclusive to Toronto. Oblivious.

Why not a bronze tower and a white tower than this awkward architectural blocking? (Realize there are 4 towers here) The only positive is that it isn't one giant solid podium.

UT thread titles include city name from all across Southern Ontario . Why is Toronto the exception?

it's not the exception.

All Ontario cities including Toronto have a prefix button with the city name on the left of the thread title.

If you click the Toronto prefix ... only Toronto threads are displayed. If you click Hamiltion... well you get the idea.

I see. Did they ever have city names arranged in the thread title?

Yeah before the prefix option, many threads looked like this below:

Toronto l The Saint | 151m | 47s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects l u/c

The lame ass search engine on the site would rarely find "The Saint" or "88 Queen" (the actual project name in the thread title!)... likely in part because of that Toronto in title.

You could Google a project name on UrbanToronto and get the a link to the proper project in 5 seconds. Using the UT search engine was anywhere from 12 tries to never lol.

I Google. It's the best. There were too many threads to scroll through when it was just the CMA. Now you could make a Sudbury thread.

You repost all the updates. No need to do a real visit thanks to you. Koops tracks everything over 20 , 25 floors too.

New residential proposal in Ottawa's CBD. Two towers, 25 and 22 floors. The towers will replace an above ground parking structure and feature 586 units, along with retail space on both Slater and Laurier.

The MIFO (Mouvement d'implication francophone d'Orléans) in Ottawa's east end community of, well, Orléans, is getting a new headquarters thanks to an important financial contribution from the Feds.

The new building will have a 300 seat theatre, an art gallery and a gym with nearly 60k square feet of total space.
