I appreciate the effort they've made to make the public space feel like a slice of an actual NY park...

^ oh wow very interesting -- the video did not work, but this faux shist facade is on the madison street level, yes?

i have been waiting for this with intense curiosity -- i need to stop by and see it while they are installing everything.

i think there is some kind of waterfall feature too?

its all going to be a very cool surprize for pedestrians.

That's actually real rock, and it's already installed. There will be a water feature below as well.

Oh wow cool that it's real rock. Much cooler than a concrete recreation. I wonder where they were sourced

A building tailored to employees' needs
The building’s lighting system is tailored to sync with a worker's natural body rhythm (circadian rhythm), adjusting its brightness, colour, and pulse throughout the day to energize employees.

Bringing hotel-like luxury to the office
But it’s not just about technology. JPMorgan has also gone all out to make the space feel like a hotel. The building will feature a signature scent, a rotating art collection (including gifts from David Rockefeller), and even generative art that moves as people walk by, making the office feel dynamic and creative.

A foodie’s dream come true
The organization also partnered with New York restaurateur Danny Meyer to design and build a food court of 19 restaurants for employees. According to JPMorgan Chase’s head of global real estate David Arena, the food court is expected to be “like the modern version of an Eataly.” According to the report, food can be delivered on-demand straight to employees’ desks.

If this tower has lighting accurate to the renderings it'll easily be the best tower in the city at night.

All of the horizontal rows of metal will be lit up from the central channel, along with the diamonds being highlighted as well, and screens on the mechanical levels under the meeting room and the top mechanical structure. It's an absolute shame how Central Park Tower and 111 West 57ths lighting has turned out...hopefully they can fix them once this is lit up

^ One can only hope this somehow gets those towers (or rather, those who manage it) to be inspired enough to get their lighting fixed!

Speaking of which, I wonder when 270 Park will undergo light tests

That's the thing as well...both 57th Street towers only had their lighting tested (it seems) with the most being done on CPT. They never officially lit them up completely yet. It reminds me of the W/Element in Philadelphia before they did the lighting test, and when those lights were flipped on it brought a surprisingly great amount of pizzazz to the nighttime skyline. Hopefully those two 57th Street towers do the same, and 270 Park will do that for sure

I don't think the Brooklyn Tower is lit up regularly enough yet either, but I don't see it that often.

Meanwhile, the night renderings make the tower look illuminated along the columns, but that remains to be seen.

The tower columns are lit indirectly (fixture is hidden) on the E/W faces of the columns, and directly (fixture is visible) on the N/S faces of the columns, all the light fixtures are already installed/were already attached to the cladding when it was being installed.

Red represents the indirect lighting and blue represent the direct lighting.

If there’s no water flowing from the top into the pools, I wonder how the plants will be watered.

Having people spraying water in the plaza every day doesn’t seem practical.

Also, are the white dots supposed to be lights?

Jamie Dimon stated (paraphrasing) that a few on the development team wanted to penny-pinch and not illuminate the top crown but he said he wanted to do it..

It is a shame about Brooklyn Tower it really is one of the nicest skyscrapers built in the city in the last decade. If viewed from Midtown it just looks like a giant black magic marker.. they really need to illuminate the crown on it as it's the highlight of the downtown Brooklyn skyline.

I imagined it would be something like that, I just can't wait to finally see it, as exciting as the top of the building being lit.
