I would be shocked if the City did not already factor these grants into their debt and budget calculations.

It's a shame and quite frankly embarrassing that this project has been put on ice once again and hasn't been sorted out after 17 years of discussion. A city of Regina's size and wealth should easily be able to make this happen and its cost keeps going up the longer the city delays.
It’s more of a shame that they couldn’t have got this library off the ground about 10 years ago. This is not we’re not gonna get nothing out of this new mayor not even a library book. He’s pretty useless. All he cares about is the toilets and the sewer.S I guess some people have their fetishes

From farm waste to global impact

Our CEO Darby Kreitz shares how Red Leaf Pulp is transforming wheat straw into sustainable pulp for everyday products like tissue, packaging, and containers.

With plans to begin construction in Regina in 2026, we're tapping into locally sourced straw – creating new revenue opportunities for farmers while reducing reliance on traditional wood fibre.

Our process is designed to be carbon negative, positioning Red Leaf Pulp as a leader in sustainable innovation and one of the greenest pulp producers in the world.

A powerful example of how agriculture continues to evolve, bringing both food and new materials to the global stage.

City of Regina seeks developer for the Yards redevelopment

The developer’s responsibilities will include planning and managing infrastructure installation, land sales and on-site building construction.

“The City secured funding to redevelop the railyard site as a mixed-use neighbourhood through the New Building Canada Fund Provincial Territorial Partnership (NBCF-PTP),” the city said.

“The funding agreement requires the area to include a minimum of 150 housing units and a public park.”

A Request for Proposals was posted for public tender by the city at the beginning of April. The deadline to submit proposals is Sept. 30, 2026.

The land in question has been empty since 2012 when CP Rail left the site. It was purchased by the City of Regina for $7.5 million that same year.
No one is gonna step forward to redo develop this piece of land. They can’t even get the pool. Construction started that they said they started last year. Something is not right in toyland the toys are scattered all over the attic

Hopefully they've refined the process, because Elie Manitoba was a disaster.

Most likely usually they don’t hold a press conference, so this must be huge

McLeod enthused as province adds 15,000 jobs, unemployment hits low
Saskatchewan added 15,000 full-time jobs in March, with the province reporting the lowest unemployment rate among provinces.

McLeod also pointed to “major, major growth right here in Regina, with 7,800 jobs added.”

I'll check out the second part of the north ring road bridge demo tonight and tomorrow morning.

I'm doing the mandatory flight review for my advanced drone license next week so I can use the heavier batteries which add up to 15 minutes more flight time. Since the review is $225 by itself, Queen City Drone's $650 Advanced course is a reasonable price for someone new to drones to quickly get trained and an advanced license to be able to fly the larger drones. The basic license doesn't allow for drones 250+ grams to be flown anywhere in the city west of Prince of Wales. Drones under 250g don't need a license and have the most permissible flying rules. 250+ grams under the advanced rules have some flight authorization requirements within the YQR controlled airspace bubble, particularly within 6km of the airport / 2km of the General helipad.

Just need to save up $2,000 for a DJI Air 3s which is more stable in the wind and has an optical 3x camera. Or a used Mavic 3 Pro which has 1x, 3x and 7x cameras. The flight reviewer mentioned that Just Bins has a Mavic 3 Pro, so although it looks like they get close to emergency operations they are quite a way off.
