I really like the way BGBX and Bloc 10 turned out. The inner panels and BGBX lettering of the building look great in person.

There seems to be a significant amount of prep work going on right now in the Fort Rouge yards area. Anyone know if that's startig to go forward, or am I just seeing something else and getting excited for no reason? They've been working just south of Fort Rouge Station.

I have a feeling Woodrow Place is dead.. 42 Woodrow Place (one of the houses to be demolished for the project) is now for sale on MLS.

Just looked at the MLS listing for this address and its still listed as a new condo development. So is the address next door if you go to the listing agents web site.

Both lots have been awarded and are in the detailed design stage right now.
http://mpi.mb.ca/english/newsroom/articles/2012/June28.html

The 2nd lot is the South west corner of Donald and St. Mary's Ave next to the Royal Trust Building and goes about 1/2 the block. The rest of that parking area is owned by somebody else.

New Winnipeg Transit Bus Garage. This new garage will accommodate the articulated buses we're getting next year.

This was the one and only rendering I know of for the Graham lot. Im not sure if this was chosen or if its dead.

From my understanding this is one of multiple entries for the site. There is no way of knowing which development was chosen until they reveal them. There are a couple on the forum who know, but they are not of the ability to divulge that information as of yet. But either way I am sure something exciting is going to be built on both sites!

theres no way thats getting approved its dead..... mark chipman and company are in charge now their company is responsible for the whole project and theyll come up with something a lot better than that... that will most like incorporate retail, residential parkign and commercial offices... plus a jets square type meeting area.

yes, that proposal was not selected....the site went to ....surprise surprise....the chipman's!

i have spoken to more than one developer who was ticked at that...there is a general feeling that the process was all a charade to provide yet another public subsidy to the Jets.

Did you design any of the entries? If so and it wasn't picked are you maybe allowed to show it if it won't be used? Or is that a breach of confidentiality with a client?

As much as I love and admire TNSE, that sucks to hear if true. Sort of kills the whole "may the best design win" and thus the point of open market competition.

That said ill reserve judgement till their plans are shown. You never know, they may in fact have had a better plan; something more synergistic with the area perhaps

Sounds like a bunch of bitter architects and developers grasping at straws.

Is it not possible. TNSE had the best designs on this property?

The amount of the ground lease for these two lots should be in the 2013 MPI annual report somewhere under the income column. I don't think its going to be in the 2012 report as there are still negations on what the final building plans are.

We can then see what, if any deal the Chipman group got.
