If you're attending an Olympics athletic event, your event ticket gives you unlimited access to all of TransLink’s transit services for the day of that event, right through to the end of service the following morning. Otherwise, TransLink’s regular transit fares apply.
great idea, they've been doing this in germany already for years (most major concerts, sports events, festivals, etc). definitely an interesting way forward - tack on a small service charge on ticket sales in venues above a certain capacity and allow the tickets to be used as metro passes for the 2 hours before and after. works perfectly with the translink fare validation scheme.
also, i bet this is bound to become some sort of collector's item:
