Is it just me, or does the building look really skinny and really narrow? Anyone know the dimensions of the occupied floors?

Interesting bit on the new Fulton Street and connections...

Ironworker from LI works on WTC tunnel

BY MARIA ALVAREZ
April 16, 2009

Quote:
Beneath the World Trade Center site, there are signs of progress. Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava's long-anticipated "oculus" tunnel design has been completed. Steel blades that resemble wings of a white dove fan out overhead throughout the main concourse.

Workers are preparing to cover the top of the tunnel with 8 feet of dirt and rebar. They will then pour cement onto the tunnel's steel deck, which will later become a sidewalk and part of Fulton Street.

NYGUY, someone posted an update from today and it shows massive amounts of rebar was placed above the north core. Looks like another major pour is in the works...

Excellent news. It's all scheduled to be at or above street level sometime this summer, a matter of months.

Nice! The first time the south crane jumped was also on a Saturday.

On the roadway just to the north of the north core there appears to be two very large beams lying there, these showed up within the last day.

I'm kind of curious since the original consturct of the twin towers the core or steel/facade supports along the sides: they had 4 cranes in the center, while this only has 2. Why is that?
