I hope the design stays the same. Simple yet effective and doesn’t look cheap and convoluted

Different perspective from one of the new towers giving a bit of a more density vibe looking towards the North end of downtown.

Awesome pic! 10 years ago you would have never guessed that this would be Kelowna!

Very nice to have downtown centre's own skyscraper cluster rather than just the North End.

Wow. Kelowna has changed so much since I lived there (1994).

On a side note, is Rutland still considered undesirable?

Was downtown for an event, and the top of the parkade we parked at had some nice vantage points of some of the "clusters".

I wouldn't call it desirable but I don't think it's undesirable either. One of my coworkers just bought a house in Rutland near Springvalley and they love it there.

They're replacing the old huge single-family lots with 12 townhomes, or buying say 3 properties to build 36. Rutland is slowly becoming a medium-density haven. Kelowna living on a McDonald's budget.

^ I drove through Rutland a couple of weeks ago and was surprised by how much housing they've built. Lots of low-rise density and, along Hwy 33 at least, seemed pretty vibrant with people everywhere.

That's a great angle. Took me awhile to figure out which way this is facing.

Great photo. Kelowna through all its flaws has an amazing central core for a city of 160,000 and regional population of 255,000.

Has any slab pouring started at UBCO Downtown at all?

Not yet, you can still see the drilling rig on the left side, just in front of the Brooklyn tower.

Downtown from Knox last week. Everything is pretty spread out from this vantage point. Even the UBC tower will mostly stand alone once built (you can see the drill rig to the right of the Bertram block.

Construction on a new BNA location in Vernon seems to be going well! They just put the signage up.

The Eli has got to be at 35 floors already by now, so like 7 floors left until it tops out. Wild how fast that went up.
Still waiting on real construction at the UBCO site tho
