Honestly awesome. How do you do it? I take it you started with the City’s 3D model, are you working in Sketchup? Are you hand making each model, or getting them from the city somehow? They seem super detailed.

Are you planning to add the missing buildings? I’ve noticed you are missing quite a few between Bathurst and Spadina south of Queen. Presumably that’s just because they are all smaller buildings?
Thanks! I initially tried using the city's open data model in SketchUp, but I wasn't able to run it on my computer, as it kept crashing for an indefinite period of time every time I tried to modify it (it didn't help trying to run it on an older MacBook). Those files are incredibly large and detailed.
So I had to start assembling one from scratch. Some of the models you see are based off of modified versions of ones you'll find in the SketchUp 3D Warehouse, mainly older landmarks like City Hall and the CN Tower, others needed to be built from the ground up, and buildings in development are modeled off of planning applications.
You're right! There are some missing developments in that area. I must have overlooked them, they're smaller ones but I'll definitely want to add those in.

That is a recent revision. Apparently they are now identical 150 meter twins.

And it’s actually 41 storeys each rather than 39. The database is wrong.

Development Height Cross-Section:
As seen from the South. This is a parallel projection, showing equal weighted development heights, not taking into account elevation or perspective.

Sugar Wharf Phase 2 is going to become a blight on the waterfront, the Toronto Star building equivalent of the 21st century!

I wish they'd at least omit the gap-toothed sections.

39 is the highest occupied level plus 2 additional mechanical penthouse levels hence the 39 storeys in the database. Both Toronto and Vancouver would have dozens of towers with extra phantom floors (death afterall) if we followed the developer's websites.

Toronto is going to look incredible from every angle - I can’t even decide which view is my favourite.

Great work koops & steveve
