I don't remember seeing this posted. A site plan filed for 710 East 3rd Street. This is across 3rd Street from Palm Park at the Crossfit Central business.

Google Earth has updated their imagery for Austin. This is the first update in about 3 1/2 years. It now includes many new buildings.

That's good because we never actually saw some of the building elevations for a few of the new buildings - UT System Admin HQ, UT Engineering Building, Hotel Granduca, Capital Ridge and even the Fairmont Hotel. All of those and more are now visible.

Awesome, I was wondering when they were gonna do this. It'd be cool if they had a time machine feature like in streetview where you could see previous aerials and compare the growth over time.

I guess there's always historicaerials.com but their latest imagery is only from 2012 last time i checked.

They do actually, but they're not real old and the quality is so so to bad. At the top of Google Earth's screen above the imagery, there is a list of icons. There's one icon in the middle with a clock and a green arrow. You can click that and select the year.

You can also remove the 3D buildings by deselecting them from the layer check box on the left side. Click on "3D Buildings". That will remove them to make it easier to see the old satellite images of each block/property. For some odd reason, it doesn't remove the buildings as you go back in time. For example, 360 Condos was finished in 2008, but if you go back to 2003 it's still shown in 3D form.

Ahh, I was referring to google maps (online) rather than google earth. I have Earth on my computer though, so I'll check it out. Anyway, just like google earth, satellite view on google maps is updated.

It's the latest idea for redeveloping the old Motorola/Freescale campus off Ed Bluestein.

If it happens (it's not the first redevelopment proposal that has come up) it could be pretty good.

I'm not sure about "Rival the Domain", though.

It's half the size of the domain, and while the Domain is within the much larger overall North Burnet/Gateway development, the Motorola campus seems to be much more isolated between the highway and the greenbelt/creek/river.

The site plan with elevations was for the Moxy Hotel were released for AULCC. It's nothing special, but it's good for West Campus to get something besides student warehouses.

It would be a huge office complex for sure, but without a lifeline to the city (direct artery or rail) it's going to be very isolated. This proposal reminds me a lot of the CityPlex Towers in Tulsa.

I believe Block 35 is two blocks north of the Fairmont. That is...Manchester's other property.

Block 35 - that project seems to be active. They submitted their site plan recently. I posted a link to it a few days ago.

That area of downtown really needs help. It's good to see some life coming to it.

I believe that site would be Block 12, not 35.

I was wrong about the 710 East 3rd Street project. That one would be at Block 36.

Block 12 is where Palm Park is. This is the "updated" Waller map. Notice that Block 185 is listed. In the older map that block and three others north, west and northwest of it were within the old penitentiary blocks.

So apparently, there is a tower planned for Block 35 and Block 36. That's fantastic. I hope there are some improvements made to Palm Park between all those towers. It's getting hard to keep track of everything when nearly every block has something planned for it.
