We're hitting 6C in the GTA today, and are expecting rain after 4 pm. The morning was brilliantly bright, and at the moment the clouds have already rolled in.

My clothes actually dried with the bit of sun we had today. Glory, glory hallelujah!

Sunday was a nice fall day around downtown Vancouver.
Foggy morning, low cloud ceiling, a bit of sun poking through, dry, calm, cool.

The high at Vancouver Harbour was 5 C, the low was 2 C.

McMinsen - was it the fog or were you trying a new style? For a second I thought you were posting old photos from the 1970's based on the look and feel - very cool!

Feeling wintry today, we had our first snow of the season, just a light dusting. Temperature is hovering around the freezing mark, so far the high is 1.2 and the low is -1.2.

It was really foggy in parts of Metro Vancouver yesterday. I walked along East 10th Ave in the morning, and visibility was all over the place.

The photos of Vancouver with the fog are spectacular. Fog excites me!! In fact, I have never been lucky enough to see fog in Palermo. In the Sicilian capital this weather phenomenon is very rare and when it happens it is limited, in time and space, to some areas along the coast, basically only the beach.
The last time fog affected other areas of the city was in 2009.

It snowed late this afternoon in Waterloo, enough to coat the ground. Hopefully we get more because I'll rarely see accumulation in Toronto.

Thanks. It was mostly the light the way it was. Unusually golden with a hazy atmosphere.
I found it so compelling I took dozens of shots hoping that a few would turn out.

Back last night. Went from 28C and tropical humidity (dewpoint of 25C) to 3C and rain. Could have been worse.

Up to 5C today. Rain early this morning but it did clear a bit later this afternoon.

The warmspot was Bedford Range, NS at 11.5C.

Warmest low was Cumshewa Island, BC at 8.7C.

Wow - thanks for contact sheet insights McMinsen, love seeing the sun and fog shifting and interacting. Both Giallo’s and your pics are something else - that was a magical day and nice to see you both capture and appreciate it.

We haven’t had the fog in Victoria, although last night they predicted zero visibility fog, so I was all prepped to head out first this morning, and.. nothing. No fog.

Giallo - very mood, real neighbourhood pics, with a sense of sadness/struggle for many in today’s world. Or that’s just where my mind/thinking is and what I’m reading into the pictures.

We hit 3C in Toronto today, just before noon, and the same weather pattern happened as yesterday, sunny skies in the morning, overcast conditions by midday and beyond, then some precipitation. Instead of the rain like yesterday, we had flurries, which started around 4 pm, when it was around 0C if not a bit colder.

I stayed home for most of the day, until I went for a walk to the local abandoned railway. It connects to the Don Valley Brickworks, which is now a park, where I did a quick bit of clean up to get rid of some of the garbage that accumulates by the lookout point. I'm hosting an event there to do more cleanup work in December, so today was basically a demo.

But the look out point has been vandalized over the pandemic and is in a sad state. My trash bag is in the shot.

The landscaping work here is really quite refreshing considering how banal or non-existent it is in much of the city. (and yes, I do know this can be better!)

These older brickwork buildings have been repurposed and are a bit odd with their installations added to them over the years

Later in the day, we had some accumulation, but it won't last for long

Well, depending on your location around the lower mainland you were either stuck in a fog bank (see first pic below) or under blue skies and sunshine (last 3 pics).
Or, some combination of those two conditions.
Dry, chilly and mostly sunny around downtown Vancouver.

Monday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 7 C, the low was 3 C.

It’s spitting rain with occasional very strong gusts of wind.

My security camera is set up to ignore cars and only “smart detect” people near my front door. It still recorded dozens of “events” overnight I had no idea my street had so many pedestrians while I was sleeping lol Mostly would-be thieves and sex workers, but quite a few (bizarrely, to me at least, couples with dogs).

Me fadder dropped off "a couple" pieces of fruit lol

Wind and rain stopped by the time I was heading in to work.

Yesterday we had a dusting of snow, last night we got an actual snowfall of about 2 to 3 cm (one inch). The sun is so bright reflecting off the snow, I can't even look out the window.

It's the world we live in right now. LOTS of people are struggling.

The camper van you see in a couple of pictures is home to a middle-aged couple. I routinely see people that are clearly living out of their vehicles all over Vancouver. It's insane how bad the housing crisis is in this region. It's affecting everything in one way or another.
