I think it's really hilarious that she thinks Moncton becoming "Toronto East" would be a bad thing...

However, given the bilingual linguistic composition of Moncton, wouldn't Montreal East be the most logical comparison?

Yelling "Toronto East" will have zero impact on Infinity or any other development project in Moncton. This project by ICON will likely spur more development in this area of downtown. There's lots of vacant and under developed land close by and I'm sure the city would love to see more density here.

Looks like the meeting may be on Tuesday instead. Regardless, the agenda is not currently available.

Alright awesome!!!! Glad they are staying focused on the full 30 story design. They stated the tower has been in a two year design process since the original proposal so im assuming things are close to being wrapped up after the garage modification. Hope to see a spring or summer start next year

Maybe even sooner. They said the other week they wanted to start as soon as possible. I see no reason when they couldn't take the next 4-5 weeks and begin excavation and site prep. This would give them a head start on actual construction next year.

They'll likely need significant pile drives to get a solid base. That can certainly be done over the winter season, allowing them to wrap up work on Pine Ridge in Riverview. Seems like things are lining up!

Cranes up!

I agree with this. I wouldn't be surprised to see work starting very soon and getting a head start on the prep heading into next year. These guys are very motivated.

The objections to the design change for the Infinity Tower had to do with traffic and noise complaints.

T&T article:
https://tj.news/moncton-miramichi/infinity-tower-design-change-approved-after-neighbours-objections (paywall)

Basically a neighbour on Harper Lane would be directly across from the entrance to the new parking garage. A compromise was reached where this particular entrance to the garage (there is another one) would not be operational from 11 PM and 7 AM, allowing the neighbour to have a sound sleep.

One additional piece of news from that TT article, something that we heard previously was going to be the case, is that the developer is hoping to finalize building permits and begin construction before the end of the year.

This post is mostly just to bump this thread back to the main page.

Infinity Tower is supposed to start this year. If we don't see shovels in the ground by April or May, should we be concerned???

The fact that they still have the tower crane up at pine ridge in Riverview says to me that they’re waiting to take it down then send it right away to infinity. I imagine they’re just waiting for the ground to thaw.

Website says: Construction Date – TBD

It hasn't been updated recently.
