Totally disagree, these are filler to backdrop site I. I actually love how these relate to chandler on the right (red stripes on the right tower) and white/aquamarine color scheme to park shore on the left. That plus the interesting amagamation of bay windows makes these a solid background for a landmark tower in the most prominent spot.


Speaking of Site I, anyone want to start a pool on the construction start date for Site I now that these two towers and the pandemic are wrapping up?

Yea I agree about having the darker color on the outside larger tower and the lighter color on the smaller interior tower. That smaller tower will be pretty much blocked from this vantage point once Parcel I gets developed

Some of these parks and public spaces, like this cascading park, are just as special as the towers themselves.

They will make this a special place for generations, especially as the vegetation grows in

These turned out well, the details are nicely done. My only complaint is that the As on the CASCADE font don't match. Why didn't they bend the legs of the As like they bent every other letter?

Huh? This criticism makes no sense.

The "bent legs" are only being used with curvy letters or curvy portions of letters. Such as the 'C' or the 'S'. You will notice that the 'E' is all straight, as is the vertical portion of the 'D'

The 'A' having no bent legs is totally consistent.

my beef with this whole area is the park and walking around / between levels to get in, out, or to anything - it's really difficult and tiring. Maybe once the last two lots are built it will gel?

The level changes are an awesome change of pace in a dead-flat city, and they open up all kinds of great views and overlooks. Most of the level changes are handled carefully with monumental stairs and elevators scattered throughout.

Honestly I think LSE does gel for the most part, although up until Vista the streets themselves were the usual CDOT standard from everywhere else in the city - wide empty concrete pavement, sidewalks too narrow, etc. Missed opportunity to provide truly pedestrian-friendly streetscapes. Hopefully this mistake is not repeated on The 78, Lincoln Yards, and Bronzeville Lakefront.

I agree with you in theory, but checking it out yesterday it seemed very cramped, incoherent and inaccessible. It will make a nice open space for Cascade residents, but doesn't seem to dialogue with the rest of LSE or the Lakefront Trail.

It is even less usable as a route through the neighborhood to the lakefront.
