Given that these are only one of a small handful of units under construction, how bad would it be to seek a couple of extra floors. First mover advantage in a market with a housing crisis. Even see if they could mark the units or portion thereof as affordable.

Considering the location - pretty sure none of these are gonna be in the "affordable" bracket..

Well affordable is a bit of a slippery scale, I am just trying to reward those that are taking a risk. Pretty sure there will be no new units coming on stream in 2025 (that is breaking ground), we are in the great depression of new condo builds for many years.

The view from Cannon St. is really changing, especially where this is visible. I've been driving it for the most part (until construction really gets going again on York, and I'll adjust my cross-city routing until that's complete) and find I need to force myself to focus on driving more than glancing out at the street and skyline beyond... perhaps I should not be driving all the time!

These ARE very visible when driving west on Cannon between Ottawa St. and a few blocks before Gage. Then as you approach Gage, the high school blocks out the towers.

It's still in limbo until the market improves. Frankly, I wish they would just go and start it, and while switching tenure would be a hassle, I think it'd be better than waiting for the condo market to improve and have a crane waiting for this future tower to rise.

Those towers do look good...they have some design elements like the Stelco Tower, mixed with some modern flair. They aren't an eyesore, and add some mass to the skyline in that area!

I really just wish that we would have some lit roof tops or interesting architectural elements at the tops of some of these buildings ... we are definitely becoming a table top skyline with absolutely no landmark features to define our city

Definitely an improvement over a surface parking lot. Downtown Hamilton has been seeing a lot of intensification and redevelopment activity in recent years, so it's great to see another underutilized site potentially contribute to the area's growth. Looking forward to seeing the renderings and how the project fits into the broader vision for downtown.
