It will probably be achieved with a spire though, the roof is probably like 1050 or something like that. Still good for LA, I'm not complaining.

I'm really excited about this project. It fell off my radar for a while because of its less than favorable timeline, but the recent renderings have me interested again.

Although the design has probably changed a bit, I think we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. The design in the above photo looks exactly the same as the one in the rendering from the Architect's Newspaper, which itself isn't very different from the designs from the early schematic stages.

"Demolition of the Wilshire Grand hotel in downtown is expected to begin in the next few weeks. The razing of the building is the first step toward constructing an 80-story replacement hotel with 900 rooms and 400,000-square-feet of office and retail space."

so it's 80 stories now? hopefully that article is accurate, you can never really trust them.

It looks smaller than USBT in the rendering above, maybe because it's in the foreground though, hopefully..

The number of stories has fluctuated between 70 and 80 stories but the height has always remained consistent at 1,250 feet tall.

Who would've guessed that LA would have 2 super tall buildings.

if you zoom into the render you can count about 75 - 80 stories using the little lines as floors.

The developers have already stated that this building will be shorter than the US Bank Tower floor-wise (I believe 3 fewer floors). However, the addition of the spire means that we will be getting a new tallest building in LA.

floors are floors, each floor can be idk im not good at this stuff it can be more feet per floor then the us bank tower,

just for example
you have 2 buildings
one with 50 floors the other with 60 floors
the one with 50 floors each floor is 20 feet tall, but on the 60 floor building their 15 feet tall, :p hope that makes sence lol

well, you have to remember that floor heights are generally higher now compared to 20 years ago. even a 1 more on each floor would be enough to eclipse US Bank

After looking at the renderings versus some real life pictures, I definitely agree with you.

Compared to the Figueroa at Wilshire building, the roof heights of the Wilshire Grand and the US Bank tower are roughly the same, with maybe a slight advantage to the Wilshire Grand. The spire adds an extra 100-150 feet, though.

It will probably be somewhere between 1100 and 1200 feet tall.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but the tall blue massing in this picture isn't supposed to be Wilshire Grand, but Park Fifth (). As sad as it is that Park Fifth isn't going forward, it was only supposed to be 850 feet tall, meaning that the real Wilshire Grand will be even taller then this blue massing!

I'm well aware of that. This just happened to be the picture I used to reference the height of the US Bank Tower to the Figueroa/Wilshire building.
