There are a lot of buildings with that design - typically on the open amenities levels. It seems to be a 2020s design trend.

The Specific heights for the U/C Rainey towers:

500' River Street Residences (Apts.)
567' Paseo (Apts.)
594' Travis (Apts.)
658' Modern Austin (condos)
1,022' Waterline (Apts., office & hotel)

In addition to those, the 452' Vesper condo tower opened about a week ago.

There is also a proposed ~800' Ritz-Carlton hotel and condo project that looks highly doubtful at this point, and a ~700' condo tower named 62 East that is still going through permitting.
